Khan and Roach on the right road 11:52am on 16 Mar 2009 fjsm33, I know what your saying, but Khan's chin is very relevant when talking about up and coming matches. It can define who wins a fight, would Hagler have beaten Hearns in 2 had Hagler not had the superiour chin. Could Benn have stopped Eubank in their first fight had Eubank not been blessed with an iron jaw? Khan is desperatly unlucky to be in this situation because he is ahrd worker belssed with great speed, but every time he fights his chin will be a topic, and rightly so.
Khan and Roach on the right road 10:40am on 16 Mar 2009 I think this was a fair blog to be honest, it echoed the sentiments of most I have spoke to, in that the fight showed what Khan had been working on with Roach, but in the end didnt prove a thing because of the nature of the fight.

Minime, you cant be serious, look back at the fight and you'll see MAB constanly blinking out his left. Put yourself in an orthodox stance then close your left eye, its near impossible to defend yourself due to lack of vision.

Also, not mentioned except by a few was that MAB, near bling out of his left eye still landed a good left on Khan, I'm certain Kahn's legs went and he held on, he was lucky it was in the dying seconds, and of course the one eyed sky team never mentioned it. Can anyone seriously say that Diaz, JMM, Campbell, fatty Guzman or even Casamayor wont land a punch of note against Khan, because sadly (and its in no way Khans fault) thats all it will take.

I dont totally agree with your assessment, Ben, but it was generally accurate and far better than the dreadful Sky team. You'd think they had just witnessed Ali vs Williams mark II the way they went on.

Khan and Roach on the right road 1:05pm on 15 Mar 2009 I agree Ben, Ive defended Degale before on these boards, I think unfortunatley future olympians are going to suffer from some very suspicious boxing fans in the UK, who had their fingers burnt by Harrison and to some extent Khan himself. Not that that is an excuse to boo a fellow countryman on his debut.

Regards the boo's, dont underestimate just how beloved MAB is by british boxing fans, aswell as any supposed dislike for Khan.
England player ratings 01:50am on 11 Mar 2009 How does Cook score less runs but get a higher rating than KP, when KP got his two biggest scores they were vital for the innings, I couldnt really care less that he got out for 97 instead of 100, it would seem the journalists care more about this than anyone else. Cook has ensured he keeps his place but is yet to prove himself.

Strauss 8 - Batted very well to prove his batting when previously given the captaincy was no fluke, some negitive calls lower is mark by one.

Cook 7 - Got a decent amount of runs some work on his game required though.

Shah 4 - Failed to take his chance on a good batting service.

Kp 7.5 - Not the run fest I'd hoped for from KP but as always in tricky times is the most likely batsman to put his hand up.

Colly 7.5 - Solid, did enough to keep his place.

Prior 7 - Good batting, poor keeping and a questionable decision to go home.

Broad 7.5 - Showed good discipline in tough circumstances.

Swann 7.5 - Bowled well in general, but not totally sold on him as our leading spinner.

Anderson 8 - Huge effort, should have hot three times as many wickets, Harmison take note

Monty 5 - Will he develop into the bowler we hoped, I'm not confident.

Freddie 6 - for gods sakes man, lose some weight and you might have a better chance of staying fit.

Ambrose 7- Did nothing wrong.

Bopara 7 - Likewise

Harmison 4 - Does he even care?

Caribbean scream 4:17pm on 09 Feb 2009 KP was the man to take English cricket forward, a born winner who wanted to create a team of winners. Now the stuffed shirts have got their chinless, well spoken yes man in charge, we can all prepare ourselves for years of mediocrity
