5 Live - Kermode and Mayo's Weekly Film Review: Notorious 10:04pm on 16 Feb 2009 Hi Mark,

I was in the audience at the filming of the "Kermode Awards" last Wednesday. My girlfriend, her brother and I all had a wonderful time, and we would like to thank you and the crew for being so warm, friendly and delightful. It was a major treat to see the great Terry Gilliam in person, and to hear him discuss his films so openly.

On "Notorious", I have been a hip-hop fan for many years but I will not be rushing out to see this movie. I have never understood the adulation heaped on Biggie Smalls, to me he has always been a mediocre rapper at best, and was in no way innovative or original. Same goes for Tupac Shakur. You say the movie gives no sense of why Biggie was supposed to have been such a unique and creative phenomenon - that's because he wasn't!

Mr Thompson's excuses are pathetic. He must resign and hang his head in shame.

I used to admire the BBC. Not any more.
Review: There Will Be Blood 00:30am on 26 Jan 2009 Liszt, you are absolutely right about the corridor scene in Ex3, rarely have I seen a simpler or more effective scare-the-everloving-shit-out-of-you-scene.

Haven't seen "Bug" yet, but I will now make a point of doing so.

Oh, and I loved "The Fountain".

If you're up for it, I wonder could you tell us in a bit more detail your thoughts on "Exorcist III" aka Legion, particularly what was changed from the original version, and how you would like to see it restored if your project succeeds.
