What did you think of the show? (09/12/08) 12:08pm on 10 Dec 2008 I left two messages on the blogg about the fur trade last night - today I'm more annoyed than ever over the one shows treatment of this subject that I have decided I won't be watching the show anymore.

I'm disgusted by the way the live skinning of cats and dogs in China was skimmed over and for Adrian, Christine and the airheaded Nigella Lawson to sit on the settees and chatter about killing beaars and then discuss the merits or not of a real mink coat versus a fake mink hung up beside them just beggers belief - this is not a conversation you should have been having - and to comment that the fake one was a bit shiny is just crass ..... oh dear it is a bit shiny - better have the real one then........

No wonder selling real fur is back in business if this is the attitude. There are people in Britain at the moment so up in arms at the video of skinning live dogs and cats in China that they have written to their MP's and all the major newspapers and for the bbc to toss it into a programme like the one show proves a total lack of understanding and sensitivity.

I suggest a major apology should be forthcoming from the bbc for seriously under rating peoples intelligence regarding this serious animal rights issue - it is illegal to cause pain and suffering to any animal - to do it in the name of fashion and big bucks is depraved and abhorrent.
Is it ever right to wear real fur? 10:58pm on 09 Dec 2008 I am disappointed by the way the one show dealt with the issue of dogs, cats and rabbits being skinned alive - cos the pelt is cleaner and easier to remove in one peice from a live animal .......... they skimmed over this abhorrent practice then proceeded to discuss which jackets looked best - this is not the issue guys - you shouldn't even be thinking in terms of which looks best - that choice just should not be there...... can you imagine the pain of having your whole skin removed - ripped from your body - all your nerve endings screaming - the cold and the shock of it flooding your body till your kidneys fail and your heart beats itself into a heart attack .......... its depravity - totally disgusting.......
Is it ever right to wear real fur? 7:08pm on 09 Dec 2008 Its never right to wear fur (leather and sheepskin are by products of the food industry) fur and in particualr the skinning of live dogs and cats as is going on at the minute in China is despicable - degrading - disgusting - no one but the animal should wear fur .....
