Agree completely mate. I was put down earlier in this blog because apparently, the ban on English teams in Europe prevented Fergie winning more CLs (or European Cups if you like). As you have rightly pointed out, Benitez has taken Liverpool to 2 CL finals in his short (when compared to Ferguson) spell as Liverpool manager. Our consistency over the last 5 years in Europe is second to none compared to Arsenal, Chelsea and United. And for this, Benitez should take great credit.

If you take out the European results (their 2 defeats to some team called Liverpool), they are outbeaten in 11 games, taking 31 points out of a possible 33.

But yeah, they are a shadow of their former selves and are actually a poor side! Liverpool were yet again, just 'lucky' to play them during this dip in form!

Fair point about the European ban but you have both chosen to ignore the fact that since Benitez took over, Liverpool have been the most consistent English team in the Champions League. That is why he has been labelled as a master in the competition which is what I was answering initially.
