Facebook v Ceop 1:59pm on 18 Nov 2009 Sounds like Jim Gamble is trying to make a name for himself, he has an agenda that's there and the vocal minority Daily Mail readers will of course support it blindly.

I don't really see the point of it though, if he's trying to protect all children, all the time, then why not encourage all software developers who develop browsers to have some kind of function built in to report these kind of things, not just a couple of token (admittedly large) websites...
Mobile TV: Ready for take-off? 1:17pm on 13 Nov 2009 there is a fundamental problem with all this streamed mobile video.

Personally, I've only ever wanted to use it when as a passenger in a car, bus, train, etc. If you're travelling at anything more than 10mph then there are real issues while your phone switches signal from one mobile phone mast to another, its rarely seamless, thus causes breaks in playback.

Secondly, 02 in particular has an awful 3G network so any lengthy (5 minutes+) video is impossible to watch.

I've tried using YouTube in various cities (Edinburgh, Manchester, London, etc) and it was unreliable.

As always its not the content or the end user to blame, its the data connection imbetween that is stalling this, ala Broadband a decade ago.

Google on the march 1:56pm on 06 Nov 2009 How can you 'get' Twitter and not Google Wave? Admittedly one is incredibly linear in terms of use, while the other is meant to be far more flexible and scalable.

Also, just to be pedantic, Google Wave is in limited Beta so its hard for a furore to break out just yet...
What is a web browser? 1:11pm on 07 Oct 2009 Haha. You can tell Google have fallen out with Microsoft and Apple. Both companies browsers are last on its list of available browsers (http://www.whatbrowser.org/browser/). Not a bad little site though, question is when will they really start pushing Chrome via its main pages, instead of the little 'try Google Chrome' messages currently
A big match for Broadband Britain 12:30pm on 07 Oct 2009 For what is a pretty meaningless game £5-£12 is awful. I know streaming costs are relatively high but the whole idea is flawed. Most people still don't have there computers connected (or integrated) to their TV's and watching sport is mainly a group thing, hence the popularity in pubs. The average computer screen size is 15-17inch, how many people are going to cram round a small screen to watch what will probably be a badly pixelated experience. Until computers are properly integrated into TV's, or they replace TV's this venture has failure written all over it

Who is batting for file-sharing proposals? 12:46pm on 26 Aug 2009 gotta love the film industry, after nearly 10 years of broadband in certain parts of the world they *still* won't offer streamed movies. Instead they're obsessed with pushing file sizes up by forcing Blu-Ray into the market, which lets be honest is little better than DVD, just so it'll put people off downloading that format or making re-encoding them more difficult.

I'm a customer. I want movies on my computer, not on a million boxes with shiny DVD's in them. I don't want to have to rip the film from the DVD. I want them in a lean and efficient file format like avi/divx (700 - 1,400Mb). Do this and I will pay you £2-3 per film. Provide an option to download a version for my mobile/iPhone/Andriod device and you'll make a fortune from new and old films alike.

Adjust to the market demands set by your customers, instead of encouraging your customers to bypass them.
Spinvox saga: What was the staff told? 1:00pm on 25 Aug 2009 On a more serious note than grammatical errors, Spinvox is a car crash in action. They have all the hallmarks of an inept company: poorly managed, completely changed business plan (none of which have turned a profit, or come close), alleged misinformation to employees, etc.
