AM Glass Box 08:30am on 04 Dec 2009 Wind bag Prescott on 'class': Eddie, could PM give these two stories today some context : surely there are just two classes in UK those who work for a salary and pay tax via paye and NI - including working poor and self employed - and the 'toff class' who live off their inherited wealth (and most of our land) which is buried deep under Threadneedle Street as gold bullion etc. EU friends tell me that the UK is famous for having the most 'working poor' and 'super rich' - notwithstanding the underclass of around 5 million who live on benefits and why are they left out of the class debate?
ON SEMI LITERATE UK (underclass) KIDs: For context, could you look into the situation that exists in most other countries where children are not allowed to enter secondary school until they have reached the required level in primary? It seems that this situation focuses everyone so that it is fairly rare for kids to have to be held back in primary school- we need this system in the UK urgently it seems.

Greg should stand as an independent - that would be the quickest way to change this lot... if enough were elected then a 'loose federation' of them could hold the balance of power - and so change things in Parliament. We might never get proportion rep otherwise.
PM Glass Box 6:21pm on 01 Dec 2009 Health and Safety... How Ironic that it seems to be everywhere except in places most needed, as in our NHS hospitals and our Councils - like mine who don't care about housing guys with dangerous dogs alongside families with little children - and the likes of me! Funny that Cameron never thought of making some hay with this kind of irony!

No PITHY 'knee jerking' here, I am the original HIPPY, sandal wearing, bleeding heart, Guardian reading, apologist for everything and everyone.... then I came to live here with my children - at Camden'S coal face! I have done 18 years (I do get away from time to time).
I actually like my flat and feel lucky to live in central London - but any sense of 'community' here, that I have often tried to foster, has always been undermined by our local government's lazy policies that amount to 'not bothering to manage'! All they say is to keep diaries on our dodgy neighbours - whose dodginess ironically was the reason they were 'housed' in the first place. - Folks, you need to know, do dodgy stuff, that's how you gain points!!! (I promise you I know the experts in all this)! Struggling mortgage/high rent paying, radio 4 listeners/readers of this blog should take note. The British law of 'perverse incentives' means that the more dodgy stuff you get up to the easier it is to get a free flat for you and your flipping weapon dog, plus a central address to serve your 'customers', Camden Council don't care as they tick their Boxes and can get awards for that! I see it all, I do not read about it!
So, We live literally cheek by jowl with our dodgy neighbours , so one would expect that good management of the situation should be the very least for harmonious community living - but the management is absent even though the 'poor sod' council tax payers ( the working poor that is) pay a fortune so that the dodgy ones can have a free flat for their dogs too. Yet there is a town hall full of well paid people who are supposed to manage but who do not. This is Britain today, this is how it works. The dodgy ones know the system but poor sod working poor (who do not qualify for even getting on the list) don't know!
So, thanks for the advice but it does not address the problem of the neighbour flat kids who should be free to go up and down WEAPON DOG FREE STAIRS, they are not clued in to how to tame dangerous dogs with treats - for goodness sake. I suppose you DoctorDolots are a 'bleeding heart' dogs rights person - I repeat, it can not be good to keep them cooped up in flats, only allowed out for the Camden Town deal/rendevous etc... no one cares least of all the police. Decriminalise drugs and end all this palava pleeeeeze Eddie!

I have a young drug dealer living in a one bed council flat one floor below me. He owns one of these dangerous type dogs with a big torso and large jaw.
He now has a baby in the flat with his girlfriend.
I have made several complaints to the council as this dog often escapes the flat. It comes up and down the stairs and to my door and growls at me. Sometimes I can't get out. On other occasions when the dog is on the stairs, shut out of the flat, I cannot go up the stairs to my flat. There are small children living here who go up and down the stairs to play.
Camden Council visited the dealer/tenant at my request, They told me that the dog was not a 'dangerous' breed but a cross breed! They told me that the tenant had agreed to keep his dog under control. But, he doesn't. So, just how much time can one devote to complaining?
There are several single men on our estate with large dogs living in small flats. One guy in a neighbouring block has 4 alsations living in a one bed flat and the guy has known to the council mental health problems. My friend in that block was so worried about the situation she had to move.
I discussed my worries with the police but my complaint and contact with them fizzled out. The bottom line is Camden Council could easily ban ownership of dogs in these small flats on the grounds that they are a nuisance as well as a danger also on the grounds that it is cruel to keep such animals in confined space. I suggested to the council that they could allow pensioners to keep one small type dog as a reasonable compromise - but they are not interested in any of it - I expect they are waiting for a death of a child here before bothering to act. There have been many attacks. Perhaps PM could help by ringing them up for me?

The Care Quality Commission? Please ask following points:
Re NHS Killer hospitals?
Corporate manslaughter? Should the Trust be personally sued by relatives in a class action?
Isn't this Britain's Shame? Is this situation unique in Europe?
Would this happen in Germany and France and EU etc - perhaps or perhaps not in Rumania? - We need this info for context.
Also, where do Ministers, MPs and their families go for treatment?
As an ex nurse I remember that anyone with 'stature' in the community would have their position marked on the top of their notes to ensure 'special treatment' by staff!!!! Or do they get private medical insurance these days? Please ask... thanks.

How then does the rest of Europe do it? IS THIS A EUROPE WIDE PROBLEM? Having scared us, YOU PM, HAVE A DUTY TO TELL US. I SHALL BE LISTENING OUT FOR THE REPORT - THERE MAY BE SOMETHING ABOUT THE NHS WAY WE ARE NOT BEING TOLD ABOUT. TERRIFYING TO THINK ANY ONE OF US MAY NEED A NHS SURGEON ANY TIME.

Just as with Super bugs, which is still going on though out of news - when almost eradicated in Holland etc, through better methods (like no more wards and testing on admission and isolation if found to be infected - not done here)NOW THE PATIENTS' Association TOLD US ON 'TODAY' that 1/4 of all patients in hospital are elderly and are being left to rot as they do not tick any target boxes . Yet Evan Davies' later interview with the minister allowed him to waffle on and did not mention the possibility of 'health and safety' issues that mean the elderly (who paid all their lives) either die of starvation, bed sores, neglect etc or if they survive are chucked out in a worse state than when they were admitted....CORPORATE MANSLAUGHTER, CLASS ACTIONS why don't the patients' association get on to it via Europe - especially now that nurses are now 'technicians' at 'nurse stations' and no one is doing the bedbaths, bedpans, turning to avoid agonising bedsores, feeding..... the exceptions will prove the rule!!! Yet the management have had billions to spend.... Give us some context too. What happens to the elderly/or altzheimers in Germany Scandinavia etc as the minister seemed not to have a clue as to what is happening and why.

sue sue sue on their behalf.
For these are the people who were conscripted into wars, paid all their lives into the system - mostly worked in low paid jobs, never went on benefits when they could have played the system etc etc. It is NHS and politicians' (health ministers and PMs') criminal, corporate manslaughter - no less!
