The ramifications of the Singapore race fixing verdict 5:26pm on 21 Sep 2009 It seems fairly obvious to all that this is a mockery of a ruling. I am waiting for the real verdict to come in, where the WMSC realise the work of hundreds of people, thousands of hours, millions of pounds and years of dedication to safety mean more than money.
People could have died, that's not a scare tactic soundbite, it's a real possibility. The marshalls, the spectators, the press, the next driver round the corner. According to the WMSC and FIA these are the people whose lives are worthless and therefore worth risking.
The WMSC and FIA have turned F1 into a joke, not a funny one either. Good time to distance yourself from all the fallout and leave the mess for someone else to clear up, eh Max?
Ted Kravitz - the German GP from the pit lane 4:48pm on 15 Jul 2009 A couple of people have commented that the fuel rig caused an issue for RB, but this was explored during the race coverage and all the experienced F1 analysts said it had no bearing on the result.

As an aside, ppl752 only wrote what he did to get you all fuming and is now sitting back admiring his handywork. Everyone likes to play the bad boy once in a while.

However, i have never felt so distant from the sport. As a fan my views, and all the publics' views, are completely ignored by Max Mosely.

He seems intent on destroying what should be a marvel of racecraft and engineering on display at the hands of the worlds finest drivers.
Instead it's a court battle to the championship, unless it's not close enough of course, then you bring in the underqualified and inexperienced stewards to throw a curve ball.

The decline in enjoyment came at exactly the same time as the loss of the Concorde agreement. I don't beleive that to be a coincidence.

Bernie Ecclestone is so full of his own importance he's lost touch with the common people.
The budget cap should bring with it cheaper tickets. If the cost of racing is reduced, the need for revenue is lower.

It won't. Bernie will still make his buck, as will Max.
Us? We will get to watch some new teams forming a procession at various tracks and be charged a weeks wages for the "pleasure".

I hope there is a breakaway series, with the big names and lots of technology. The fastest car wins, the man with the most points at the end is the champion. Most of all, levels of machismo and bravado that make normal folk like me dream about being spotted driving on the M25 and offered a drive for Ferrari, McLaren........
My Bahrain Grand Prix photo diary 5:35pm on 30 Apr 2009 In answer to #11, I am led to beleive you cannot spray champagne as alcohol in public is banned. You may, however, consume alcohol in a licensed premises, such as a hotel or restaurant, as long as you don't get drunk. I'm not 100% sure, but I have been told this by a friend who has visited Bahrain.
Hamilton makes a swift getaway at Sepang 10:33pm on 02 Apr 2009 In reply to Budgeesmuggler, Trulli was not DQ'd he was given a time penalty. So this is not "tit for tat" punishment.
The real problem is not with the teams trying their luck. VMM are not the only ones to do this, just the most reported. The problem is the public are rapidly losing faith in a system with no consistency.
The FIA and all of the associated fat cats have lost touch with what F1 means to millions of people.
These situations could and should be dealt with behind closed doors and within 24 hours of the result. If there is a question during the race it should mean the suspension of the podium ceremony until it's been investigated. not just hashed up by semi qualified stewards, but looked into by a professional team of informed and experienced people who have knowledge of the sport to bring to bear. Maybe ex team bosses, or ex drivers, or ex chief mechanics. People who know what they are talking about.
How F1's cash crisis could help the sport 3:55pm on 18 Dec 2008 In response to timzroom, there are do-or-die drivers out there, but they are not allowed to push the limits of a cars capability for fear of penalties.
This all leads back to the inconsistency issues, which we don't need to go over again, but it does have an impact on the spectacle of F1.
It would be good to see someone like Lewis or Fernando in a private team. To see just how much talent can influence the results, even against bigger teams.
It has been glimpsed during this last season with Vettell and Kubica winning, Sutil running in fourth in Monaco,showing that teams can still punch above their weight, if they nurture the talent available.
