As if 1989 never happened 3:43pm on 02 Jun 2009 Good move by the western media especially the BBC for trying to stir up something that as long past and was dealt with internally.
Your web site this week as been full of over the top information about what went on 20 years ago. why? You don't really care about people here, you have proved that by your previous blogs and shown distaste for the Chinese. Don't pretend you care.
The BBC fails to mention how it censored Sinn Fein not to long back and how all mention of the conflict there was never in any any history books at school. It's took till now for the truth to start filtering out and most of that is still being covered up.
Double standards yet again by the BBC.
Just another attempt to kick things of here by the West.
This as been dual posted btw just in case your decide to "censor it" and not post it.
The right qualifications 03:03am on 06 May 2009 The air pollution in China is pretty well localized.
I was brought up in a area in the UK among the iron foundries which belched unhealthy chemicals out into the air for years completely unchecked.
I remember the layers of chemicals every day lying on my fathers car which he washed every day so it would not corrode the paint work.

I now live in a part of China where the air is extremely fresh and clean.
Its the first time in my life i have breathed so much fresh air and my health as improved drastically because of this.
Yes China as still long way to go but the western governments are more interesting in suppressing Chinas industrial might then greenhouse gasses.
I think you will find if America leads my example China will follow.
Its a no brainier.
Apology by text message 04:22am on 05 Jan 2009 If I was Chinese I would make sure there was plenty of "plain-clothes police officers" following you about James and what your reporting. Like they do in the UK on any sensitive matter.
I think James you would rub people up less if you changed your style of reporting and moved away from making a bigger deal out of something.
Yes no doubt the victims are getting a raw deal and something need to be done about it, but your way is just using them a vessel to stick the knife in China, when the UK does exactly the same thing but do a better job of covering it up.
Also a I'm a firm believer if you read one blog and take it all in may be you should read other blogs to keep a balanced approach.

What do people in China do with a day off? 09:08am on 03 Dec 2008 This is the balanced approach the BBC uses to create the illusion the rest of there articles hold some some creditability.
As ever thou its a shallow and doesn't even touch upon what people really do.
It should of been entitled "what I do in China when I have no clue what else to do that day."

I do remember when I was a child I visited Portsmouth to have walk around the Ark Royal air craft carrier.
I believed back then that Great Britain was great.
Its took till now to realize it was not and never will be.
Chinese Democracy 06:10am on 26 Nov 2008 Um i seem to remember the Sex pistols getting banned by the BBC some time back.
No freedom of speech there.
I live in China and i have little difficulty access any information sensitive or not.
BBC seems to suffer badly from double standards.
Seem to also remember a blanket ban on reporting anything said by certain political organizations in Northern Ireland.
i grew up with no clue what was going on there and i of Irish Catholic descent.
So BBC you have lost all respect from me regards anything you say on this web site.
As for Guns an roses -old hat , i just listened to the complete album in china , pretty rubbish.
I grew up with Guns and roses but I'm afraid they now in the bin with me, for good.
