People here have consistently said they want to see a solution to the poor PQ issue, an improvement to sound, (to actually have sound, on some occasions, would be nice, see comments re Electric Proms), as well as consistent levels and the right feed, (see comments re Strictly Come Dancing from Blackpool where no apology, on-screen or since, was offered) and the removal of the on-screen graffiti that is the BBC HD DOG.

People have offered their own opinion, based on what they see and hear, evidence in the form of grabs of picture broadcast data, references to others within the BBC and broadcast industry who offer a different viewpoint, including the European Broadcast Union, and the author of this blog does not even offer one response within the debate here on her own blog.

Does Danielle believe it is respectful of the people who have taken the time to offer all of the above, to not respond, except within, what she might consider the safe environment of a recorded and scripted television interview.

For the record, I would love to see encoders be so efficient the bitrate could be dropped to miniscule levels, so all TV in the UK could be HD, but in the meantime I just want a great HD picture with full DD 5.1 sound, and no DOG.
Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 00:14am on 23 Nov 2009 With regard to Danielles appearance on Points Of View I have to say I was hugely dissaponted, although not surprised, at the inaccurate and dismissive way she responded to viewers comments regarding both the PQ and DOGs.

As for the lack of engagement by BBC people in the debate here on this blog, perhaps they should take a look at what Nick Reynolds, Social Media Executive, BBC Online, said previously: "The key point is that the boards will only get better if there is more engagement from the BBC"

Points of View and HD Picture Quality: a response 10:49am on 15 Nov 2009 In this blog Danielle asserts "The charge made by a number of you is that the substantial drop in bitrate for BBC HD since the channel was launched - and in particular the reduction in bitrate in August when new encoders were introduced - has had a "catastrophic" effect on the picture quality offered by the channel".

Can someone help me find where any of the 'number of you' Danielle refers to, used the word 'catastrophic'?

Danielle has previously revealed her position with regard to both bitrate and content when she stated "I know that for some who read this programmes are a second order issue, compared to the DOG and our broadcast bitrate"

I said, at the time, I considered her comments to be rather, ill-considered and dismissive, given her position as Head of the Corporations High Definition channel.

Prior to having a swipe at people 'more' interested in the technical aspects of HD programming, as opposed to 'content', Danielle had, in her previous blog, demonstrated how busy she had been putting together new channel idents - apparently much more important than the technical quality of the broadcast.

Danielle did answer that question on POV when she said some viewers need a DOG to help them navigate the channels.
A day in the life of the Head of BBC HD 9:53pm on 07 Nov 2009 The overnight log from the broadcast engineers should provide interesting reading on Monday morning. The technical problems with the broadcast of Strictly Come Dancing from Blackpool ruined, for me, what was obviously a well produced show.

I have to say I thought the picture quality was very good but surely the BBC should do better with the audio - not even an apology.
BBC HD Update: DOG Patrol 10:28pm on 26 Oct 2009 Trying to watch 'Scapegoat' on BBC HD, but the DOG is barking and distracting me from the drama. I seem to remember Danielle Nagler, Head of BBC HD, promising we not have to put up with this distraction in drama.

What happened?
