The Dreaded Curse of the Thursday Night Out 9:02pm on 24 Jan 2009 In response to an earlier post which I think, and I may be wrong of course, was aimed at me.

Why the hell should I turn off my computer and go and something else just because a small minority of people have decided to turn the Chris Evans Blog into their own personal chatroom?

As for the implication that I don't understand what is going on, do me a favour, a four year old could post on here, and judging by the quality of the spelling, punctuation and grammar they are.

This may just be be my paranoia kicking in, but I get the impression that certain people on here recently may not be all they seem to be.

Having said all that I shall not be coming back here again. You have won , I surrender.

Don't go on about how I should post something else if I don't like what is going, because I have tried that and it is just a waste of time. because in no time at all it is back to love spuds and virtual hot tubs.

I thinkl that maybe the reason you feel ignored is that your posts often do not lend themselves to a reply as they are complete within themslves.

Much to your credit you do not indulge in the puerile smut which seems to dominate the blog a lot of the time and also you do not post just for the sake of it.

As has been said before people can just scroll down when they see certain names appear, I know I do. And yes, before anybody else says it, I'm sure people do it to me.

So carry on posting if you enjoy it and don't fret about being ignored.

Nepotism- This country is based on it. The monarchy, the shadow cabinet full of Old Etonians.

Obama - How much of his success is actually a vote against Bush and his party?Did the US electorate just feel that there was need for a change and the Democrats could have put a donkey up and it would have got in.

The same thing could happen here at the next election with Brown being voted out rather than Cameron being voted in.

Its not like a job where you start at he bottom and get promoted higher and higher until you reach the top.

On a similar theme a girl in my sons class at school applied to do a degree in miwifery and a presitgous university. She was refused entry on the grounds that she did not have the relevant experience!

It is his money and he can spend it as he likes.

Once again football is being used a the whipping boy for the credit crunch.
There are many other areas of sport and entertainment where people are highly paid , but these don't seem to atract the same level of critisism. F1, a favourite around these parts, springs to mind.

A whole new audience has been introduced to Manuel and Fawlty Towers.

The Daily Mail has been able to fill acres of newsprint with righteous indignation, which is what it likes to do best.

So all in all a right old result.

Ross's career does not seemed to have been harmed, he's back on TV and radio and presenting the BAFTA awards. He also got a nice long holiday.

Brand has got out of a show he didn't really want to do anymore and has a load of new material for his shows.

Douglas has fallen on her feet. Did it give her a convinent way out after having got as far as she could with R2?
