Who will be market movers? 10:50am on 30 Jun 2009 To YNWA87 - Of course loosing Ronaldo is massive. he has been the driving force for us the last 2 seasons. But it will be interesting to see who Fergie has lined up to replace him as he must have known this was coming for a while now. Will be interesting to see who we get. Im not commenting on our chances at the title next season until the transfer window closes.

Tevez will be less of a loss. he was more an impact substitute. Hard working yes, but not a high quality striker. ironically he may find himself in a worst off position at City than he is at Utd if Eto'o arrives, but he'l have a lot of cash so he'll be ok.
Is Owen still worth a gamble? 3:18pm on 15 Jun 2009 to be fair I think Owen is now a championship quality player only, and in my opinion was never a great player.

However I wouldnt be suprised to see Allardyce sign him up at Blackburn, he seems to love signing "once great" stars and finding a way to resurrect there careers

Use the cash to sign Tevez....with Ronaldo gone we can promise him more first team footy.

We should be able to get more use out of Rooney in a more forward role which will help England too.

Dissapointed to see him go but am optimistic to see what we do in the summer to replace him.
Capello close to World Cup goal 09:52am on 11 Jun 2009 Glen Johnson had an awesome game last night, but I worry about his defensive qualities. He does look a genuine threat going forward but I have always felt he is a liability when facing attacking teams.

Maybe he will improve in that aspect, but I feel we need a few challenging games before the world cup to test that point, otherwise teams like Brazil, Spain & Holland will destroy him.
Barry gets England talking 2:40pm on 03 Jun 2009 Its definatley about the money. Fair play, but as Phil touched on he should just admit it.

Last season he kept going on about he needed champions league football, so a move to Liverpool would have made sense, but as soon as a few million quid is flashed in front of him its suddenly a case of "whats champions league football"? Dont get me wrong, id take the money, but I feel a little more integrity is needed here.

Another thing I dont get, correct me if im wrong, but didnt Liverpool loose out on Barry with an offer of 18 million last year? If that was the case then City have got a bargain at just 12 million

One certainty is that the managers' benches will be occupied by two of the most courteous and professional examples of the species. No histrionics, no petulant tantrums, no mind games, no conspiracy theories - and both men so much respected by both players and fans.
