A bit like Sven taking a 17 year old Walcott to Germany and then not playing him or giving him a chance even after we lost Owen. It is just wasting a position that could be filled by another player more deserving.

I meant instead of Carrick or Hargreaves, not Beckham.

Mind you, who in their right mind would suggest taking Gary "Up the Unions" Neville. He's old, slow and not playing.
Robbo's England World Cup squad 1:54pm on 15 Oct 2009 Hargreaves would have to play regularly from now on to have any chance of making the plane. Capello has never seen him play so his inclusion is difficult to justify. When Carrick plays well, he is excellent, but I think he lacks self confidence at International level. I'd take Jenus.
Good shout on Milner, he showed his versatility last night and even though the oppostion was poor, they didn't get past him. He's definately jumped ahead of his colleague Ashley Young.
As for keepers, I would rather take the experience of Paul Robinson than Joe Hart.

Time Is On Your Side, Fergie 12:46pm on 21 Sep 2009 We all know that match officials at OT will always give Man U as much injury time as they need to score. Hughes spent enough time playing for them to know this is the unwritten referee's law.
Injury time is decided by what state the team are in. If losing, injury time will be enough for them to equalise. If drawing, injury time will be just enough for them to score. If they are losing badly, there'll be enough injury time for Fergie to warm up his hairdryer.

Cash n Grab 4:14pm on 15 Jul 2009 Firstly, great blog Robbo, back to your old self, talking about something you know a bit about (instead of cricket & tennis etc). Look at how many comments youve had already.

This whole thing with players wages is very worrying for the British National game. Some clubs are now paying more in wages than the club actually earns, which creates a similar situation to what the UK Government has done to the country. Spiralling debts being absorbed by some billionaire (or in the countries case, the taxpayer). So what happens when they decide they are bored with this football lark and walk away? A large proportion of the EPL will be plunged into administration within hours. It is frightening what could happen when clubs are no longer being run as businesses and no account of profit and loss is taken into consideration. If the clubs are not owned by billionaires then they are in hock on massive loans that require constant restructure and consolidation. Even First Plus wouldnt touch them. The bottom is going to drop out eventually and the FA will be left with a car crash of a League.
