Stretch fights Khan's corner - from afar 3:02pm on 05 Dec 2008 Khan is a good fighter, he is quick and exciting however two aspects worry me about his long term prospects.

Firstly is his chin, which is obvious following his various knockdowns in his proffesional career most notably against Prescott. Roach has taken a logical approach in working on Khan's legs, a strong a durable base should aid Khan in the future against the real big hitters. Prescott hit Khan with haymakers that in all fairness he had no right to catch Khan with, any fighter in the world at Khan's weight would have been knocked out by these. However it is the short flash punches which catch fighters that are the worry with Khan's record, so working on Khan's legs may prevent such a problem in the future.

Secondly Khan lacks any genuine power, again leg work will help more than upper body stregnth, but he is not a natural puncher, when he faces more durabke fighters he doesn't really trouble them as much as he should.

However if Khan works hard and irons out his early deficiencies which have never really been addressed until it jas been too late then he can become a world champion and make his name in this sport.
Haye has mouth - and plenty of trousers 4:10pm on 16 Nov 2008 Haye is an overrated fighter.

Techincally Barrett was beyond poor, everytime he hit a jab he had his chin hanging out inviting Haye to hit him. This guy was no better than a pub brawler who let the occasion ge the better of him.

I nearly choked on my dinner when one commentator suggested that neither Lewis or Bruno jad managed such a convincing win on their way up. Absolute rubbish! Remember Lewis destroying Ruddock?

I would hasten to add that Haye will slip up before he meets either of the Ks. Still think that the likes of Samuel Peter or especially Povetkin would cause Haye real problems.

Haye would be wise to go for Vladmir first as he has a better chance of beating him, Vitali is a different prospect altogether.

Like Amir Khan he has a glass jaw, in heavyweight boxing you will not be around long enough if you have this flaw. Lewis didn't have the best chin in boxing so he changed his style, I don't think Haye has the pedigree or discipline to do this.
Could Wenger shape new England? 1:35pm on 13 Nov 2008 I saw the Arsenal Youth taking on a good Ipswich side recently. I was impressed by the techical ability of the side, while many of the youngsters will probably not make the transition the captain Jay Emmanual-Thomas really stood out, and extremely dominant player reminding me of dare I say it Patrick Vieira. It is refreshing to see that we are producing a good array of players especially ones that can cope with the physical aspects of the English game which is something that we may have lacked in players coming up the youth ranks in earlier years. Certainly though the likes of Simpson, Ramsey and Emmanuel-Thomas will blend in well and compliment are slighter built players like Vela and Wilshire.
