Why's Gordon smiling? 07:04am on 04 Dec 2009 A smug Gordon Brown, if that is the sum total of the BBC's ability to provide politcal commentary at a time when the country is going down the tubes then the BBC has lost the plot. Nick Robinson should hang his head in shame with this glib, superficial, one sided article. The sooner the BBC is not funded by the TV licence fees the better, what a waste! As for Alastair Campbell, well that shows you how desperate Brown is, the kings of sleaze and bullying are now buddies. What an absolute disgrace!
Woods image battered but not beyond repair 01:55am on 03 Dec 2009 His driving has been notoriously erratic of late but this takes the biscuit. Struggling to really warm to the man with his sour faced performances of late. Perhaps we now know what was troubling him? He has obviously had more than his golfing performance to worry about!
Britain lands key EU foreign policy post 01:47am on 20 Nov 2009 Well we can all rest easy in our beds tonight knowing that we have a "warm, likeable natural coalition builder who appealed to the European left as one of their own" ....who is now the EU version of Dr. Kissinger! What a complete laughing stock the EU is. When the Lisbon Treaty really stared to take effect what did we get from the EU leaders? A dawning realisation that this treaty is not all its cracked up to be. A startling prospect of being usurped and an erosion of their own power and influence, cystallised by the hunger for publicity and dramatics that our Tony would have brought. So at last we have the solution: "downgrade and devalue the posiions" of President and EU Foreign Supremo, appoint some complete innocous unknowns, everyone will forget they exist and we can get on with life. Sanity at last!

Only you know the answer to that and perhaps for the hunreds of thousands of people in the UK who have lost their jobs over this period you can tell them it was all a dream! You really are deluding yourself. I hope you feel better soon.
Cricket misses the point again 04:13am on 03 Sep 2009 A simple solution: do not let the captains have a say in whether they want to play or not! Leave it to the umpires and groundsman/ground authorities to decide with a direction that play is to proceed unless it is dangerous. And finally, refunds of tickets should be for more than the face value of the ticket to recompense specatators for travelling to the ground etc. I suggest a 150% refund of the tickect price for spectators, now that would make everyone think hard before abandoning a game!
First thoughts 07:57am on 26 Aug 2009 You reap the harvest from the seeds you sow. Unfortunately we now have a result, an embarrassing and totally disfunctional "United Kingdom". It should from now be called the "Divided Kingdom", with Scotland blaming Westminster for lack of guidance, Westminster saying they had no power to intervene and the result is a ridiculous and totally predictable mess.
Bloodgate brings Deano down 08:51am on 20 Aug 2009 Some of the posts here saying the punishment fits the crime are really living in some kind of fantasy world, as many have pointed out eye gouging is so abhorant it should be a criminal charge with a custodial sentance. What Richards did was wrong, but lets be realistic, this professional bending and breaking of the rules goes on in many guises by many coaches and if you do not believe that then that just confirms you live in fantasy world!
Aussies collapse to revitalised England 8:55pm on 17 Jul 2009 I agree that Flintoff kept up the pressure but that is not where the initial major pressure came from. It came from England scoring over 400 very rapidly in conditions where they should have never got to 196 for no wicket had Australia bowled straight,that is where this game turned. If the ball swings Australia will struggle and that was proved today by their inability to keep the score board rattling along, pressure builds and then being caught out trying to score of short pitched balls. This is not a great Australian side, there is no blinding pace, great guile or mystery, what you see is a very ordinary bowling attack.
Mervyn's done it again 04:54am on 25 Jun 2009 Whoever takes over after Brown is inheriting an awful mess and will not be thanked for making the tough decisions that this Government has avoided. Thank goodness Mr King has had the courage to speak out and in so doing has left our Gordon looking like a lonely Shag on a rock!
