The problem with winner takes all 7:35pm on 18 Mar 2009 What seems to have passed by the media in the coverage of this story is what happens when a championship contender is down in 4th or 5th after the final pitstop - is he going to push hard to perhaps make it onto the podium and gain the extra points that might swing the championship on the off chance he wins the same number of races as someone else. No - he's going to go easy on the car and settle for his current position - they only have 8 engines for the season remember - so any chance to save the engine will be taken. This will result in the battle for the lower points places being destroyed, which is a shame as its usually the most entertaining part of the race as the leaders are too scared of knocking each other off.
Time for footballers to reveal their whereabouts 9:32pm on 11 Nov 2008 Footballers have become so unsporting that the need for drug testing has never been greater. They cheat by diving, faking injury, getting other players booked etc. that it would be naive to think that some wouldn't take drugs if they thought they could get away with it. Drug testing is common in almost every other sport, so I don't get what the big deal is - if they've got nothing to hide what's the problem?
Your choice has never been so difficult 7:56pm on 11 Nov 2008 For me Chris Hoy should win, but like many of you I think Hamilton will get it as its fresher in most people's memories. My vote is for Rebecca Romero though - to win two medals in two different sports is beyond belief and worthy of recognition. Team of the year has got to be the cyclists.

The overseas award has got to go to usain bolt for me - the man is a legend and a true PERSONALITY, which is after all what this is supposed to be about - however i fear Nadal will get that one.
