(Em)Bedding In 09:20am on 13 Mar 2009 @adr3988 - thanks, we'll review the embed technique and try the satay option. At the moment we've given broad browser support priority over strict compliance. We already use different (JavaScript) embedding techniques across BBC online to ensure valid HTML

@RayTracer - the pop-up button should not be seen when embedding a video - we have a fix for this which will be launched shortly

@JGScotland - most video content across BBC online is served from streaming servers rather than downloaded progressively - this allows you to quickly seek to any part of a program, and (as others have mentioned) helps us meet our content protection obligations. You should find that current versions of Flash will buffer up to a minute of streaming content whilst paused, and for iPlayer content a download option is available.
