As if 1989 never happened 5:50pm on 03 Jun 2009 to #41, "It's irritating how some people think the killing of the students had led to China's prosperity today. As if it could only be achieved through killing."

That is your own feeling,Sir, please to understand here, most of Chinese are sad for students who lost lives, but they pleased the situation had been controlled! and those yobs, mobs, roitors whom would understand freedom and democracy equal to lawlessness, had been brought into justice.

I read every comments here (above), no one said they think today China's achievement is benefit from the killing. people with extremely anti chinese view may would have commenting in this logic.

I would say the benefit is that China had been saved from total social unrest and political disaster. peaceful protest is allowed in wherever around the world, but violent and destructive behaviors would meet with tough solution not only in China.

the whole country is erupted by those violent rioters,there were footages, BBC must have, but not broadcast them. I was 9 years' old in 1989. now I grow up, after 20 years on, although I regret there were people lost lives, I still would like to keep my eyes on those who led the mess, then got themselves away from it.

there are not many media coverage on those people, they are not dala lama, but they should be carefully look at, as they led students to their ends of lives, when they had only dreams as they push it by hunger strike, with no practical solution what so ever.

please, its so irritating, when bbc kept this kind cold war thinking and try to force people to belive that the Chinese Government carry out killing for fun. Yes, the students were killed, but for the sick of China's stability, for the law and order, if they stay at that night, they should shoulder the consequences.

As a 9 year old in 1989, my wishes to these students were eat and leave!!

Anyone who lost family members would have such devastated feelings, and I understand the grief of the parents as a only child myself. however, the reports is focus on the sadness of the story.

I still had faith in media professionals in west and in China, so I hope you would dig something may be more exciting. give us some figures, and your analysis in depth of some realiable statistics.

your idea result from very limited circumstances, I just learned that there is bigest fraud immigration agency runned by three non- chinese been discovered. they submmit thousands of fake documnents to
homeoffice for thousands of illegal settlements in the UK. and their clients are non- chinese as well.

I even not think they are considered right to Cheat. think about live, and be normal person, before your make your judgements.
China's Olympic venues now 12:29pm on 24 Apr 2009 well, I think it is a very good idea, and it is been orgnised in a very Chinese way. the admission charge is not expensive, when most of people come to visit Beijing from other provinces. They just like come to see it and feel it as if they were here while the game was on.

add anything else more for greater economic and commercial benefits would be seen as thirsty for money of a businessman's behaviors, which will be seen despicable in traditional chinese view.

although I had no further information of the exact ownerships of inflow of the cash generated from this,and any attemption of how the money should be used. but part of this income I guess would be used for general maintainence, protection and security. At least stop inappropriate activites anyhwere near those great landscapes.

Isn't such horrific annoying thing to see and hear things this country did, who has the most powerful military forces, utterly shocked every one in the world to invade another country, brought death and distruction for finding the never founded WMD.

this country has the most advance financial products market, and advocate for freemarket, but brought us a economic recession and their goverment subsidies from Bank to Car Manufactures.

this country sent off its warship everycorner of the world,even their own warship crashed with their submarine, with national debt in trillions to support these military and spy activities.

and now this country said some one else broke the balance.

Saying sorry to the Chinese 2:48pm on 17 Feb 2009 saying "sorry" is worthless, especially you did something wrong seriously. As the bankers say sorry to the taxpayers, or the Australian government say sorry to Aboriginals, or even The janapnese say sorry to us, the chinese.

many heartless animal behaviors

the west culture's logic is that when things like above, then a sorry is ture sorry, they knew it. But after the "sorry", many times nothing happens, and the offenders get the ultimate relief.

In China, people think differently, you don't get that relief easily, because if you do, you will make the same mistakes again and again. something we accept if they happen again, but something we don't.

that why Chinese demand sorry from the offenders to make sure they know what they do is not acceptable by Chinese.

if those offenders think they wouldn't be bothered with that, they would not offering sorry at first place.

the "Face" matter is also not only for the Chinese, it goes every civilized socity.

the original meaning from that: Face is such important part of your body, when you going out you will clean your face and ladies even put themslelves another face on. these show respect to others and yourself, only barbarians do not care about their Faces.

so the Face is not something simple, it is a way of show how gentle and civilized you are. nothing to do with honor, that is seriously misleading. SO, Apparently, all the parities where they knew about this and offering sorry to the Chinese is turely try to aviod being seen as uncivilised, but the attitude of those parties are different, which no one could influence with. however, no one is stupid, who try it sincerely, who play game,
show the characteristics and will be eventually help or devastate them in the futher.
The last bangs 7:42pm on 09 Feb 2009 well, that is tradition, it isn't? then what's propblem with that? shows the chartristic of China, and I know it is some times can be difficult for outsiders, but be honestly, what the outsiders want, feel at home? come on, this country has its own tradition and clutures, it has very deep roots in her history. Like all the "outsiders" including me, when you living, working or studying in a country where you needed a visa then compromise what the differences between the new place and your home town.

show some good side of it, even you feel difficult to get to use to it.

I am sure China will be quite diffieret from the UK. And James, please, pick up some good sides of it, do not focus on how many people injuried, espcially due to drunkenness. it is point less, because every country would have some idiots hurt themslves or others after heavy toast every single year.

I think the heavy fire work acorss China shows that most of Chinese people is looking forward for the next year, they knew it is going to be a tough time ahead, and they are not 100% sure what will be happen. But they are demonstrating they still had faith on the country and their own, may be they even put bet on the CCP.

if this year there is no such fire work, I would certainly sure of that the world will all aheading to a really unpleasant situation.

about 4th -June, I am not very familiar about the histroy of shooting protesters in the UK or other countries. but one thing I sure about is there had been thing happend similiar to 4-June in UK or other countries as well, and I sure that there are reasons for those conflicts became inavertible.

so no one is better, do not think those been shot are completely innocent people.

I hope James study a little Chinese and do a bit more research about this history events, and look at it from the point of view of general public of China. if you found out something, then tell your readers and audiences, who actually behind it?, where all those "student leaders" went? who provide financial support for the plot? and what this wave of deadly and violent destruction bring to China? how much the cost to ordinary Chinese people?

As a Chinese, I'd been in the city during this event, when I was just 9, after so many years, after read and balance the different reports both in China and west.

I honest opinon is that, if there is anything need to be remeber, that is the government did a right thing, stop it before it destroy the whole country. I feel sorry for those students lost their life, I hate those who lead them to the square, and after all, those "leader" all fly away. what they did for the country? from my point of view : very little and very limited!

if you ask Mr. wen, do you have plan to commemorate 4 June. even me want to ask, to commemorate whom? and why? I doubt those dead contributed much to their nation, compare with many, their blood largely paid for their own mistakes. for those deserters? or for the party? at least they did the shooting, which is not nice but no chioces lefted.

so I feel this is a event only can be recorded and learned, but not be commemorated. any formal annual ceremony would not be appropriated in our culture for things like this.

I knew he wants to make this show, and I actually expecting a more drama one. he choosed a wrong place, a famous uni with hunderds years of history, a wrong time when everyone needs to talk not throw shoes to each other, and wrong language, the iraq shout in arabic, he use English, that even make it more suspicious about his motivation to do this, least the Iraq guy shout for his country and his people, this one shout for whom? britsh people, not in logic.

come on, what a rubish we all seen here. Well, the serious attitudes of the UK pubilic media towards this incident, make it even more funny, I really try to belive there is a anger amount a group of people about China, its people and its leaders, after this one, I only free all of thses are politics nothing to do with people, general public either west or east watch it, laugh at it, and forget it after 2 weeks.
