Brown crisis bringing policy changes 11:55pm on 07 Jun 2009 Policy changes are not needed, rather a change of leader. Whilst not being Welsh, I have spent time in that lovely country over the years, and sympathised completely with dedicated Welsh labour supporters. I am not a socialist, but fully understood the background and history of the Welsh working men and women, and knew well the docklands of Cardiff and saw the terrible living conditions. Despite not having bathrooms, nor indoor toilets, the workers bathed in tin baths beside the fireside, and their crumbling two-up, two-down homes. A proper meal was served at the end of a working day, and it was the norm for children to be taught good manners and a respect for books and learning. The great Welsh socialist Bevan played a great part in post-War governments, and his tragic death caused great sadness. Not since 1918 have the Socialists not controlled Wales, for this we must 'thank' Gordon Brown. No, I am not a socialist, but unlike Brown and his hypocritical government I do not pretend to be one.

Decisions can be made, but whether they actually are ever carried out will depend entirely for the moment on Machivillian Mandelson. Interesting thought: if this present government dwindles away or is replaced completely, what will happen to the grandiose Olympic plans?
Well, Charlie Falconer has said it 10:48pm on 07 Jun 2009 Falconer, if I'm correct was Blair's mentor, and he is now administering a dose of "what goes around comes around" to the man who breathed down Blair's neck. In my humble opinion, this country is in such dire straits that I believe an emergency coalition caretaker government should administer Britain's affairs whilst steps are taken to allow a general election to take place.

My comment has been removed "referred to the moderators". What I wrote was not pleasant, but it was my honest opinion, and if the moderators of the BBC blogs want to act in the very ways of dictatorshops, then I can do nothing.
This thread was supposed to be about the Romanian hard right, and it is ironical that my posting was the only one on-topic and it has been removed.

Survival but at what price? 11:33am on 07 Jun 2009 Lord Mandelsons father was an advertising manager in a weekly newspaper. He dealt with Hatch, Match and Despatch as part of his duties. Mandy, now is busy hatching plots, setting a match to the pants of his rivals and despatching them off into the political wilderness. Gordon Brown will soon follow Smith, Blears, Becket, Hoon, Flint, Purnell et al.

Good job I saw your posting as I am off to watch TV tonight. For once there are some brilliant programmes on BBC 2, not cooking, sewing, make-up, dieting, gardening, home improvements or how to stop drinking, eating, breathing etc.! First, I have made and continue to make many mistakes. That is why I have never been put forward as prime minister or even an MP. Secondly, in the harsh real world of commerce we pay for our mistakes. Massive mental strain? "If it's too hot in the kitchen, get out." Not my words, but the response of most employers. Actually, I agree that he is suffering from massive mental strain, his judgement has become even more erratic than usual. With Lord Mandy breathing down his neck (as he himself once haunted Blair), a horrible tragedy, worse than Macbeth, is taking place before the eyes of the world. Caroline Flint has abandoned ship, and he is now left with a handfull of weaklings, under the control of Lord M and now Lord Sugar. The kindest thing he could do for himself, his party, and most importantly the country, is to call an immediate election. Well, I am off to listen to another "Waste Land" latter tonight, and before that, if I a, luck "Dad's Army". Good night to you and all bloggers everywhere.

Same as my comment #349 which was removed. I didn't embarrass anybody as much as GB has done. Can you imagine Michelle chuckling with her husband tonight, and also Charles and Camilla? No disrespect for the veterans, the only disrespect shown to them is that after fighting for freedom and democracy, they have to see an unelected Prime Minister who doesn't even know the name of a famous beach. Pathetic!
