It can't be the case that individual MPs are responsible for choosing which bits to redact - so who does choose?
Does it matter about anti-matter? 6:56pm on 13 May 2009 There are actually hundreds or even thousands of scientific and technical papers describing in tedious detail what is supposed to happen inside each separate accelerator and experiment at CERN - probably the majority of them are publically available. The information is there for anyone who has the persistence to find and understand it.
What the CERN press office chooses to put out on one particular day is another question. There is a big difference between secrecy and focused communication. I expect if CERN decided to release every one of its technical reports to the media the result would be even worse and they would be accused of 'trying to blind us with science'.

"unpleasantly and excessively suave or ingratiating in manner or speech"
or "offensively flattering or insincere."

Neither of which you could accuse KP of.

Who else could have realized that the office of the vice presidency is practically a power outside the law - and the perfect place from which to run government without oversight?
What it shows us? ... that intelligence doesn't mix well with extreme secretiveness.
Inauguration coverage 12:05pm on 29 Jan 2009 Perhaps the BBC should start its coverage by a ban on vague and unsourced comments by 'seasoned Washington observers'.

If there's one thing reporters should have learnt over the last decade or so, it's that sources who don't have the guts to go on record don't deserve to have their opinions propagated by the media.

There is no such thing as an unbiased 'observer' in Washington. Make the would-be opinion-formers take responsibility for their pontifications.
Put it on the record or not at all!

He said that he would visit every one of the 50 states - got to at least 48 with Hawaii, but what's left?
