Although I agree with you about the "sex" argument, I think the success of Buffy has also been responsible for the latest glut of vampire films/tv series from the US; sadly these have dumbed down the threat of the vampire. Of the "modern day" style vampire movies I do like The Lost Boys and Salem's Lot (the David Soul version). I do like the more traditional Dracula story, from the likes of Christopher Lee, Gary Oldman and Frank Langella.

But one of my favourite films of all time is The Fearless Vampire Killers. I know it won't be considered Polanski's best film but I think the sexy humour is very well written and acted.
Your questions answered - part 14 08:00am on 27 Oct 2009 I'm not surprised that Stirling Moss gets mentioned as the best British F1 driver; some consider him to be the best F1 driver ever. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't born until the late 60's so can't truly appreciate the greatness of drivers like Moss, Clark and Stewart. It's the the same reading about it in books.

On the point about Kobayashi: Yes, he needs to stop the erratic driving habits he learnt elsewhere, but if he was to get punished for the Nakajima off, then Webber would have had to be punished for the same offence, at the same part of the track, when he decided force Kimi onto the grass to prevent Kimi from overtaking him. And it's not the first time that Webber's been overly aggressive this season; remember him unnecessarily driving into Rubens at the start of the German GP? I'm not having a go at Webber and I'm not defending Kobayashi's, but I think it's unfair to penalise and condemn a rookie for his driving when more experienced drivers are doing similar and sometimes worst things.
Trailer Treachery 3:43pm on 21 Oct 2009 I do remember watching a trailer at the cinema for the Heath Ledger film "A Knight's Tale" and thinking it's going to be one of those dreadful Hollywood attempts at making a serious historical drama about jousting.

I usually find when I'm at the cinema my head shaking with despair whilst watching the trailers before the main feature. I find many trailers uninspiring and as a consequence I have avoided many films;1012 is the latest big feature film I'll be avoiding.

I usually find trailers uninspiring because editorially they all look and feel the same, for their type of genre, i.e. trailers for horror films look and feel the same, trailers for action movies look and feel same, etc. There's very little in the trailers to make me want to watch one film more than another. This is probably why I'm struggling to think of any films I have watched because of the trailer. So, before deciding to go to the cinema I do the norm of considering the director, the cast and listening out to what critics have to say - mainly yourself and Barry Norman - and friends whose views I trust. I also go on gut instinct.

Music Lesson 09:55am on 26 Sep 2009 Playing an instrument is more than just learning to play the notes, it's about connecting with the instrument and the music. Musical expression, or lack of, is the key reason why I feel many acting performances fail. One of my favourite performances, however, is Michael J Fox in 'Back to the Future' with Johnny B Good because he looks connected to the music, and for that reason I couldn't care less about his fingering.

I've not seen this film but from your description it sounds like watching somebody playing a real life "shoot em up" game, without the opportunity of playing it yourself? Isn't this the equivalent to going round to a friends house only to just sit there whilst he's playing a computer game? (which has happened to me on a many occasions when I was younger). I like "shoot em up" games but there's nothing more boring than watching someone else playing them because I what to play it myself. Maybe this is the flaw in the film and the reason why you found this boring. Lock and Load.
