I can think of many more deserving cases of this level of recognition, and most of them are serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

On the main topic, when the "era of irresponsbility" finally come to an end at the next General Election, I am hoping it will not be followed more of the same, so David Camerons statement sounds reasonable to me.
PMQs row over Baby P 08:30am on 13 Nov 2008 The central issue about the behaviour at PMQ yesterday for me is that old Gordon is back!

I thought that Camerons question was perfectly valid - given the seriousness of the situation should the investigation by carried out by the people responsible for it in the first place ? The answer seems obvious to me. It's a bit like having PMQs - who would expect the PM to be able to decide what the questions are ? Well apparently (according to your spin Nick) Gordon Brown and the baying Labour MPs do, and you seem to agree with them.

Yesterday was a complete disgrace for New labour. Old Gordon is back - and showing all of his character defects to the world. I wonder what his wife - the new secret weapon - made of it all ? Once again, the PMs statements are "clarified" soon after by Ed Balls announcing a new review.

As for you Nick, do you really exist? Your blog leader looks like it was written by Alistair Campbell, and is hopelessly out of touch with how people perceive this issue.
Two political gambles 11:52am on 11 Nov 2008 The only thing about Gordon Brown's big ideas that I am sure of, is that I will eventually end up paying for them.

Having spent the past 11 years sneakily finding more and more obscure ways to tax us all, this really doesn't sit with view of the world up to now.

We can only watch and wait as to what happens .....

This is how they work it out I think.

Using the statistics given in your post 50 :

Labours percentage majority has decreased from 28.539 % to 18.601 %, a drop of 9.938 %

To get this drop of 9.938% they assume that one person changes voting "sides" reducing one vote count and increasing the other. ie the percentage of the electorate who change their vote is actually half of the actual percentage drop.

9.938 divided by 2 gives 4.969 % which is what reported in the link given in post 273.

It is misleading this method of calculation, it is a swing that reduces the Labour majority, though not actually a swing from Labour as reported, as their voting percentage actually increased.

It just goes to show that you should not believe isolated statistics on their own, and the context of the situation given by other relevant statistics and facts is important to understand actually going on. Gordon Brown and the government us this approach all the time for all aspect of government to show themselves in a good light !
