Your News 2:56pm on 11 Mar 2009 The morning has gone well so far, but I have yet to decide how to explain to my wife the presence of a sperm whale in our Lounge.
What did your relatives do in World War One? 3:47pm on 04 Nov 2008 My grandmother told me that a friend of hers was in London on leave from the trenches on the Western Front. Whilst walking down the street in civilian clothes he was seized by a young lady and presented with a white feather. This was a practice during the First World War, when it was assumed by some that any man seen in the UK not in military uniform was shirking, and the white feather was given to them as a mark of cowardice. Controlling his temper, he said to the lady, "Thank you for this. If you meet me here in 3 months' time I'll give you a present, a handful of lice from the trenches where I'm stationed". Needless to say, although he survived the war, she didn't keep the appointment.
In the programme tonight, more on Russell Brand etc 4:46pm on 28 Oct 2008 Setting aside the questions of taste, acceptable conduct & responsible behaviour - none of which subjects spring to the forefront of one's mind when considering Messrs. Brand & Ross -is there not a legal point here? What is the law's position concerning action to be taken against those making obscene or offensive telephone calls?
