Lloyds should simply line up and take its medicine. It bought HBOS and it most certainly did not have to. All the warning signs were there and the decision makers deserve what they get from this fiasco.

Many on this Blog, like me have gone back to basic instincts and simple common sense rationalisation of this "Crisis"

We know that we have lost trust in both Politicians and Banking Institutions, not only here in UK but World-Wide. The Media and many Pundits, Leaders of Industry and Commerce are talking uo the Economy and the Global Economy. Yet job cuts are roaring ahead in the Western World with all the massive long term consequences to wealth, social cohesion and well being.

For myself, it feels like I am living in the Titanic and someone just woke me shouting "The Ship is fatally damaged" My first thought is "rubbish" as nothing happens and we do not appear to be sinking. But I have a nasty feeling in the pit of my tummy.

Each and every month now the UK balance of payments is so bad that we are aout £15 or £16 BILLION in the red, every month going forward. The government is doing nothing about this at all. No attempt is being made to cut this deficit, nor cut Public Expenditure roaring out of control.
No noe is at the Helm as the Captain seems a "Zombie in the lights"

Over two thirds of us are going to vote Conservative at the Election as a protest against Labour, showing our distict lack of enthusiasm. We are dulled and worried by too much information and conflicting views and advice. No one expects their standard of living to fall permanently, vbut that is what is about to happen to Millions of us. Governments have flooded the international finanical system with funds and liquidity with NO END GAME except political survival over the short term.

Once the Oil game is no longer transacted in US Dollars, watch the fur fly. Little old Britain with its Pound will be in the teeth of the storm, yet to come. Where do we shelter from this storm?

Now that "Trust" genrally has gone from most major Institutons and the Public are dissolusioned and cynical about those in power, whether at Board Level ( Fred the Sched) or in Banks playing with our monopoly money, it is going to get harder for companies to get Executives to commit to them for any period of time.

It has become a time of Devil take the Hindmost and every man or woman for themselves - to retire early with a massive Pension Pot. Honour, Loyalty and Long Service have all hit the "Buffers" after the fiasco of our Politicians expenses and the Bankers Bonuses. Love of Country and Devotion to the Nartion is left with only the few, many present or past Military People. We are all in very rough seas right now. Mr Ball is wealthy anyway, lives in Spain and can do without a "Job in the UK"

What if recession justs goes on with unemployment continuing to rise and sterling falling?

What if we are forced out of Afganistan as we simply can no longer afford to stay there?

What if the next Election produces a "Hung" Parliament?

What if the Globe only experiences Global warming, hurricanes and stunamis in the future? This "Growth" game really is a busted flush.

Meanwhile, your Pension will be halved and you are likely to lose your job soon. If you do not lose yours, then your wife will.

The next 12 months will be the time for Unions to flex their muscles and the rest of us to take the hind most. Western European standards of living will fall over the next decade as Asia rises.

The real G20 breakthrough 8:32pm on 07 Sep 2009 We also need to understand what asset value really means. Jaded Jean asks where has all the money gone?

Liquidity and cash is only one part of wealth as assets are "valued" at a price. If your house drops from £300,000 in value to £200,000 in value you feel poorer and are poorer. You are possibly in negative equity or if you have paid the mortage, you have lost £100,000 in value.

Banks profits and their accounts rely on valuations of millions and trillions in assets which can be drastically cut back overnight if Standards and Poors Rating Agency takes their AAA rating and drops it to an ABB or similar.

Asset valuations of companies, other assets such as Gilts, Houses, Factories all are susceptable to falls and thus the "Cash" available if you sell falls too. The money in Trillions has gone, simply gone. We are all now less wealthy as a Global Nation of Nations. No National Politician is going to pick up that hot potatoe however as there are no votes in it.
The real G20 breakthrough 8:25pm on 07 Sep 2009 If for a moment we consider a true "Global Economy" in a three dimentional World Economy, we have all "Lost" several Trillion Dollars in asset value since this crisis began. This has major consequences for all of us, particuarly those in the West who enjoyed high standards of living. We shall have to face lower standards of living, higher taxes and possibly deflation or little growth for a decade whist we pay back personal, corporate and national debt.

The game has changed in that the World will have many more people, with us no longer enjoying the high standards of living we had up to last Year. The damge has been done yet we are not yet addressing the consequences as Politicians globally desperately try to return us to growth, based again on debt. This is no solution and history will show this to be right
What future for media and journalism? 8:24pm on 03 Sep 2009 Convergence of Media from audio through video, twitter, face book and Blogs worldwide, means that Consumers are King across the Web. I can choose my News from not only UK outlets but also a wide range of US Outlets and Reuters too.

I frankly believe that busted UK Business Media Models will win very much trying to charge for News. Have a look at the Drudge Report in the USA at www.drudgereport.com or the Huffington Post, the online Newspaper. Now we are both Global and three dimentional, meaning that the BBC or other UK Media Outlets are no longer so significant to the UK based Internet and Web Surfer.

Today, we have individuals with many credit cards, mortgages and no financial training, qualifications or real money skills or savings. Yet they lead complex finanicial lives, right on the edge..

Until we return to a Money Society in balance with our Social skills and understandings that debt is BAD, not a GOOD thing, we are not going to progress.
