Becasue the map is misleading and only looks at white BNP racists - rather than all racists from every ethnic group.

You must have missed the 300 or so police force applicants denied jobs due to them being white males.

Yes but the figures themselves are fundamentally flawed. Every time an ethnic minority is attacked most police forces assume it to be racist until proven otherwise. Whereas when a white person is attacked the opposite is generally true.

This isn't necessarily a big criticism of the police - one can understand why it happens for a great many reasons. However, it is still completely unacceptable.

More importantly as others have said, how on earth does a BNP map give any real guide to racism?

I bet countless white racists support other parties, then of course you've completely ignored racism by ethnic minorities who are of course just as racist as anyone else - not just to white people but often to each other - eg in Birmingham.

The BNP often achieve success where other parties have failed to represent the electorate so could it be that the map just represents areas of failed democracy?

Finally you've also failed to note how the BNP has vastly more members in areas with a large asian/Muslim community, and generally far less in areas with more blacks

A European Obama? 2:16pm on 13 Nov 2008 I want to believe that Obama was elected because he is smart and is perceived as someone who can effectively tackle the complex issues of our times. Is there someone like him in Europe? Well, I'm kind of hopeless in this respect. As Italian following the Italian politics from the US, I wish that some politicians had just a 1% of Obama's personality, but the scenario is really gloomy. Anyway, I really hope there is an European Obama who can lead all EU countries in the 21st century.

Knowing When To "Go" 6:35pm on 09 Nov 2008 I'm glad to see that the the googlebots at least will see the proper link, but (not being a SEO-conscious blogger) I don't care that much. It would be far nicer if normal web users got a genuine link rather than a redirect page. What FrankieRoberto says is spot on, both in terms of what is wrong with the current set-up, and the alternatives.

I want external links that behave as any other links - most importantly: to be coloured differently if I have visited them before; such that I can "copy link location"; and that don't leave me hanging for five seconds before taking me somewhere. It might seem churlish to quibble over five seconds, and a few minor points, but the whole thing is ridiculous and unnecessary. Tracking by internal javascript is certainly the way to go, here. Or at very least, remove the 5-second delay from the redirect page. It's so very last century.

Also: James, I don't think the major concern is *your* use of Omniture data - the concern is that *Omniture* is being given huge amounts of user data.

Grondona is a mafioso, disgusting and full of crap. Hopefully, Diego will the energy from his heart do bring again happiness to people. do not understimate the little man.
