BBC iPlayer HD now on Virgin Media 12:25pm on 11 May 2009 Sky recently announced they'd be launching a full Video On Demand service for their HD boxes using the broadband connection.

Is there any chance that the BBC iPlayer might launch on Sky as part of this? It'd be a very welcome addition!
BBC HD: All new website and idents 1:24pm on 06 Apr 2009 You make lots of references to new 'idents' (plural). So far though, I've only seen the one with the children fishing as posted above. Are there actually any others? If not, I'm sure it'll get just as repetitive as the previous one, nice though it is.
BBC HD: All new website and idents 10:28am on 01 Apr 2009 I like the look of the new ident - somehow it just seems a bit more 'BBC' than the previous one. Looking forward to seeing it on screen.

By the way, is there any reason why the 'Subtitles' DOG has to be bigger than on the BBC's SD channels? Surely with the higher resolution of HD there's no need for it to be so large - in fact surely you could get away with it being a lot smaller. It is rather intrusive, and spoils your nice new ident.

And besides, given that almost everything on the BBC is subtitled these days, is it not a little superfluous now anyway?
BBC HD Channel Up To Nine Hours Per Day 1:16pm on 20 Mar 2009 Hi Danielle. Is there any way you could add "Also on BBC HD" to the EPG info for programmes on the SD channels?
I can't be the only one who's set a programme to record on BBC One/Two/whatever not realising I could have watched it in HD. A short note in the programme info highlighting that the show is also available in HD would help prevent this - more so than a DOG over the beginning of the programme, which if you're watching a recorded programme doesn't help.
It might also be handy in the case of non-simulcast programmes just to add "On BBC HD, Wed 8pm" or something like that?
BBC HD: "Creeping" DOGs Update 11:09am on 12 Feb 2009 It's great not having the DOG on dramas and movies, but is there any chance you can remove it from nature programmes too?

When so much effort goes into producing outstanding, visually stunning images on programmes like Planet Earth and last night's Nature's Great Events, why would anyone want a graphic slapped permanently over them?

Without wanting to sound like a hippy, surely nothing lends itself to HD better than the world's natural beauty, so please don't spoil it with a DOG.

I can cope with DOGs on some programming such as music or light entertainment where the primary source of enjoyment comes from the audio - essentially the visuals are secondary to the music or speech. However, in programmes like Nature's Great Events, the visuals are very much the focus, so please, please leave them unspoilt.

I wonder also if there's any chance that where it remains, the BBC HD DOG can be made a bit smaller? With the higher resolution of HD, surely the DOG can be made considerably smaller and still remain legible.

I'd also echo those who've questioned its position. Could you not move it nearer to the corner of the screen? I see no reason why the DOG sits in the 4:3 safe area, meaning it's offset from the left hand side of the screen. Surely there's no reason to accommodate viewers with 4:3 TVs when it's an HD channel, and can only be viewed on 16:9 sets!?!

So smaller, and further out of the way would be great... Either way, thanks for removing it from movies / dramas - certainly a step in the right direction.
