Pre-Budget report disagreement between Treasury and No 10 12:46pm on 11 Dec 2009 I really can't believe it.

If (please God it doesn't) GB was to win another term, Darling wont be Chancellor - he probably wont even be in Government.

So why didn't he do the honourable thing and tell the PM (Pompous Muppet) where to go (and what to do!!) and give us a PBR that was good for GB (Great Britain) and not that waster Brown.
Chancellor aims to get serious about deficit 01:43am on 09 Dec 2009 Will the Chancellor get real and serious and present a package that is good for Britain but not necessarily good for Labour - or will GB stick his oar in and meddle so that we have a vacuous electioneering witter.

Hmmmm - my money is on the latter - since Brown has given up all vestiges of being an honest politician and is now bringing Alistair Campbell to back up Mandy in a desperate attempt to cling to power and hang the consequences to Britain.

Never mind lads, only 6 more months till we can dump the dummies.
Introducing green cuts 12:31pm on 24 Nov 2009 Having worked in both environments it is clear that there is ample scope for at least 10% reduction in government spending. Profiligate use of lights, cavernous offices with just one or two people in them, enormous corridors and halls - the list is almost endless. If the Government departments actually had to pay rent for the space they occupoied they would shrink down faster than a slug sprinkled with salt!!
And just look at the money Mandy is spending on his working environment.

This government is splashing our taxes against the wall like a drunk with money to burn.

Was 2,000 a myth? 12:47pm on 15 Oct 2009 Lest we forget, there is also the small issue of TA training being suspended.

If the battle for Afghanistan is so vital because it will keep terrorism off the streets of UK, then why does Gordon Brown then suspend part of the defence effort by stopping TA training.

It does smack a bit of a desperate government out of control being reactive rather than proactive.

Still, only 7 more months (but sadly an unknown number of further casualties) until we can vote Brown out.

I too served Queen and Country for 21 years between 1969 and 1990 and it was very clear that Labour governments were not interested in the Armed Forces - in fact they treated us like mushrooms (kept us ine the dark and fed us ******. I recall pay awards which resulted in soldiers earning less as a result!

Accordingly, do not be surprised there is a disparity between what is wanted and what will be supplied - particularly if it involves Labour.

The figures will have been massaged and obfuscated to ensure that the requirement is lost. Pressure will have been brought to bear to ensure that dissent is crushed. Further, this government's tactic of announcing something once and then twice more and thus claiming that three times the requirement will be met will ensure that there will still be too few men and women trying to do too much with too little.

God save us (and more importantly the men and women on the front line) from the dishonourable and self-serving lot in power - and get us a government that understands basics such as responsibility and honour.
Idelogical chasm? Tough sell 4:31pm on 28 Sep 2009 Lord ('elpus) Mandelson is a busy boy. Blaming BBC for lazy journalism and so smearing the corporation in the event that Nick doesn't come up with teh goods and give GB et al glowing coverage. Denying that he woudl ever work for the Tories yet offering himself to serve his country in whatever role was needed post the next election!!

Now he is spouting absolute tosh about yawning chasms and that Labour are better suited to get us out of debt (presumably because they alone were responsible for plunging us into the mire and putting the country into hock for years to come).

Let's hope it's all a dream and we wake up tomorrow to discover the police have found two sets of clothes on the Brighton Beach (Mandy's and GB's) - a la Perrin and Stonehouse
Brown puts Trident on table 12:34pm on 23 Sep 2009 OK - so GB is pandering to the Labour left (and so trying to enlist support against the expected Autumn Coup) by reducing our nuclear deterrent. What he proposes in neither sound nor workable - typical GB then!

He is also strutting his stuff on the international stage and hoping to draw attention from the fact he is too weak to sack Baroness Scotland.

Cheer up lads, less than 9 months to go till we can sack this pratt and his bunch of cronies and get a proper government in power
Pay later? 2:50pm on 10 Sep 2009 How about this for a solution to raise money and pay off the national debt.

Labour produces a chuff chart that allows us to mark off the days until Mandelson and his side-kick Brown are thrown out of Downing Street.

I reckon they would sell about 55 million (there will be some poor benighted souls who believe that Labour are doing a good job). At £10 a time there is £0.5 Billion paid off straight away!

Come off it, the UK Government supports big business & I’m glad they do.

I think you missed the point. It wasn't about supporting UK's interests - it's about lack of leadership - cowering behind Scottish Ministers rather than speaking out!!

A straight forward public statement my Mandelson (or Brown) to the effect that in his opinion he should have been released/kept in prison and then point out that it's the Scottish Parliament's call was all that was needed.
