Determined to vote 08:06am on 23 Oct 2008 Yes! #1 is correct. I live in Nigeria and I have already cast my vote for the first black American president, Barack Obama. He is a man on whose shoulders rest the hope of US.

As for the people been determined to vote and defend it, it's a sure sign of victory for the Democrats, considering how reportedly the 2000 election in the US was stolen and handed over to George Bush and denying Al Gore that opportunity to succeed Clinton.

Now, the disenchanted electorate of 2000, those still alive anyway, are determined to get fresh voters registered so that they could reclaim their mandate. Like Gavin stated, the election is not on November 4. It has long begun.

And Gavin, you decided to keep us waiting in apprehension when you didn't write yesterday. I thought perhaps you had been attacked by the republicans for your cut clear reportage. But thank goodness, you are safe.
The risk of expectation 4:26pm on 21 Oct 2008 No doubt, every person who has kept a close watch on the happenstance in the polity of America will definitely feel mugged and distraught if Barack Obama doesn't make it to the White House.

The expectation, like Hewitt stated in the title, is huge and only our imagination can quantify what a lose of Obama's presidency will be for the people's psyche, not just to the democrats but to silent and passive republicans.

I pray, and sincerely hope he doesn't lose. Not just for history sake as the first black president (this is far from it) but for the catastrophe that may emanate from such a lose.

It could be worse than what is happening in Iraq if Obama loses to McCain come Nov.4 as the black population will forever feel robbed, not just in America but the world over.

What else do they expect from Americans and the world when a former secretary of state on the flagship of the Republican Party decides to take his own party apart in truth and honesty?

Of course, the people are not blind... We already saw that even before Powell's blast. Anyway, this makes the truth all more revealing. Ride on Obama. But the Team Obama must tread with caution as, no doubt, there are lots of bananna peels on the way.

Watch and pray President Obama in the waiting. We will do our beat of the praying too.
The enigma of Barack Obama 11:20am on 19 Oct 2008 Barack Obama is what any just country that believes in democracy needs now to drive its democratic ethos. Nigeria, and other African countries should learn from what is happening inthe USA and bury their prejudices and ethnicity bias to forge ahead in developmental pursuits. The right people should be given the chance to make their input, even as America is about giving to Obama. Obama will, no doubt, make a nice president.
