Parliament's reputation brought low 7:42pm on 08 May 2009 Nick, methinks that you are perhaps being a bit soft on these serial spongers who hide behind parliamentary privalidge under the guise of being an MP. They are all at it and the average person in the street is appalled at the brazen attitude being displayed. The all need to be severly castigated or something with like that with a similar spelling and Nick you should be in the fore front calling for this.
Questions that MPs dread 08:56am on 08 May 2009 If those arrogant spongers in parliament had to face the true cost of living like us poor cows out here they might start to tell the truth about the state of the economy do something effective to improve things.
Cleaning up bankers' mess 08:52am on 01 May 2009 Casting blame after the event is easy and not of much value. Not that I condone the reckless plung into logical absurdity by the banks, regulators and particularly Mr Brown into believing that new wealth could be continuously generated by designing increasingly complicated spreadsheets but any fianacial institution not following the herd to some degree or other would have been out of business in short order.

I am all in favour of breaking up the banks and properly isolating risk to where it belongs - with customers who will pay the risk premium. Retail banking and the average customers thereof should not be penalised when the higher risks are blended with the lower and result in higher charges for low risk borrowers.
What am I bid? 08:36am on 11 Mar 2009 Hung parliament some hope for Labour. The only things that need to be 'hung' are Brown and his wrecking crew. I'd also confiscate their pensions too.
Will Lloyds' chiefs resign? 07:43am on 11 Mar 2009 The whole game stinks. We start with Gordon Broon throwing a shed load of UK tax payers money around to save Scottish Banks and Labour votes in Scotland. But on discovering that these Scottish bastions of canny prudence were so far 'up the brown creek' he has to con/bully/bribe, call it what you like, a good and well run English bank, Lloyds, to dig him out but forgets to disclose and/or Lloyds forgot to ask carefully enough just how bad things were.

So we end up with a real mess and and scapegoats are to be found. The Lloyds top brass should not be the first in line. The first person to be forced to resign should be Gordon Brown. In fact he should be summarily dismissed for incompetance and his pension should be confiscated.

I am not a Lloyds shareholder but have been a Lloyds customer for 40 years and what I find now is that they have been dragged down to offering the same level of poor serivce as all the other banks. How very socialist of Mr Brown to reduce everyone to the same level of mediocraty.
Brown's message to the United States 06:53am on 06 Mar 2009 Never in the annals of human politics have so many been so unconvinced and bored witless by one single man.
The 'special partnership' 08:05am on 04 Mar 2009 I can just see the rolling of the eyes skyward in disbelief as Gordon Clown left the Oval office to comments like: What a self-delusional lunatic he's living in cloud cuckoo land no wonder those Limeys can't stand him.

As for addressing Congress this is just a polite American way of giving a man enough rope to hang himself. On past performance it will surely be a pathetic spectacle. Brown embarrasses me every time I have to admit that I'm a Born and bred Brit (England).

Come on Gordo show that you are really made of something and quit now for all our sakes.
The spirit of Churchill 07:12am on 03 Mar 2009 Oh to touch the garments of the great one - all riches and salvation shall follow. Or so the number 10 machine and that slack jawed clown Mr Brown might think.

The US does not need the UK but Mr Brown needs a helping hand so if he gets any assistance it will cost us dearly. This is the only similarity between Churchill and Brown.
Lloyds and HBOS humbled 07:04am on 14 Feb 2009 The mind boggles at what sort of inducements were offered by Mr Brown to Lloyds TSB for them to embark of such a lunatic scheme of buying HBOS.

As a a humble Lloyds customer such inducements seem to have passed me by along with my shrinking overdraft facility and my ability as a small business to raise short term loans. Although I do seem to 'enjoy' increased charges and reduced service increasingly supplied by computerised tick box jockys from obscure parts of the Globe.

Its alright for the chosen few: Senior Bankers and politicians despite everything they are still swimming in the cream but the poor customer knows where the 'buck stops'.

Dream on Mr Brown your electoral doom approaches.
