Are Barclays' profits irrelevant? 3:28pm on 09 Feb 2009 I think the BBC and ITV can start on about bank bonuses when they put their own house in order. Jonathan Ross is on a few quid and at the weekend I read Ant and Dec are on a 5 year £50M contract.

The fact is most bank staff earn decent but not stella money and work very hard.

The sensationalist reporting of everything in this country is what is causing half of the problems. Funny how bank bonuses are washing over the news of the Home Secretaries' and many other MP's nice little earner.
Hot seat 11:30am on 02 Dec 2008 If somebody sent me an email saying they were going to make a donation to charity rather than send cards I would ask to see the receipt.

I haven't sent any for years, and it's fantastic. I stopped when the cards got so expensive. The last straw was when somebody made fun of me for sending a previous years issue card (apparently they have a date on the back).

I would like to say I give a donation in lieu of the cards, but I don't. I spend the money on bacon wrapped chippolatas (or should that be chippolati).

Once I have convinced the rest of the world to do the same I am going to concentrate on the outlawing of buying birthday presents for other peoples children.
The Glass Box. 5:50pm on 01 Dec 2008 In regard of the story (bbc news site)about the credit crunch meaning people are staying in for 'free' home based entertainment. Can somebody tell me if the smaller feet in the picture belong to a lady. They look odd.
Does anyone have $55 trillion to spare? 9:06pm on 13 Oct 2008 The problem with the conclusion is that unfortunately as long as there are snake oil sellers there will be snake oil buyers.

If in years to come the Government decide to sell their Bank shares back to the public do you think the strap line for the sale could be. "If you see Fred, tell him"?
