Dubai: Wholly avoidable crisis 10:37am on 30 Nov 2009 The property that is causing all the trouble in Dubai is the wrong sort of property; after this weekend's news from Iran, it is obvious that it would have been much better to have built underground nuclear shelters, rather than high rise hotels. This news will be just another straw for the camel - get ready for the crash.
AM Glass Box. 10:06am on 30 Nov 2009 When Nils Blythe turns up for work this evening, you can tell him from me that he put it a pretty poor effort, when, on Saturday, he tried to convince that financially neurotic wimp that gold wasn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm not impressed with Blythe at the best of times, but Saturday he excelled himself in his complete misunderstanding of economics.

Introducing green cuts 10:14am on 26 Nov 2009 #222, that's one in the trap, think again, old son, on what I claimed. I will admit it's a little out, as the figure is really a bit higher, I just wanted to have a little leaway in the percentage.

Politicians will not solve our energy problems, not when we have the leader of the opposition putting a wind turbine suitable for a small boat on top of his house, and probably getting a government subsidy for it.

Introducing green cuts 09:53am on 25 Nov 2009 I've had a quick scan, and after 217 posts there's no answer to my question @#3. If find it absolutely silly there's all these suggestions of how to cut carbon and such, when the vast majority doesn't even know how we generate our electricity. I really can't see the answer to global warming coming from the UK, which is no surprise at all to me.

Spot the difference 10:16am on 24 Nov 2009 The UK is getting by on borrowed money, and it's been going on for so long that is has become, to the politicians on this country, a habit. In this case who has control of the economy, the addict or the pusher?
