Blame is the Spur 4:39pm on 20 Oct 2008 Good blog Robbo, honest as ever!

We can all sit here and say we should do this and we should never have sold that, but lets face it, unless Mr Ramos or Mr Poyet read the Robbo blog (I'm sorry Robbo, but I very much doubt it) then all this hot air venting we are doing with the 'what I would have done differently' scenarios is an exercise in futility.

All we Spurs fans can do now, is sit back, hope and pray that we turn it round and fast! Otherwise it's Friday night football against the likes of Derby, Plymouth and Blackpool.

To be honest the above scenario might not be a bad thing, it might make us Spurs Fans remember that we are not living twenty years in the past because that was the last time we were actually any good!!!
Ramos facing Titanic struggle 4:05pm on 06 Oct 2008 I've read all the comments and that last comment from giganticfridgemagnet (great name) just about sums us up and has left me with not a lot to say, but I'm going to anyway.

Berba is gone (thank god), on his day, excellent, but when was his day? Tuesdays? As he is proving for Man U now, he just can't be bothered.

Keane is gone, unfortunate, disappointing but, after 6 years of false promises of UCL football, 'breaking' the top four etc, who can really blame him. Good luck to him, he was a loyal and devted Spurs player but a quality player who had to say, finally, enough is enough.

As for the others, Chimbonda, Malbranque, Tainio, Kaboooom, Robinson etc the only two who I was sorry to see go were Malbranque and Robbo. Maybe not so much a trusty Steed but could quite easily turn a match, and at least Robbo could hold on to a ball, he had a bad spell but lets face it, with a defence like ours he was not going to be able to save everything!

All this is in the past. Our problem lies in three areas, our defence has more holes than a tramps vest, we have no Roy Keane, Patrick Viera, Michael Essien, Claude Makalele type midfielder and our creative players Bentley, Bale, Modric, Dos Santos can't create wind, let alone a decent chance.

Now, harsh words that Spurs fans (myself being one) won't want to hear. Find something else for King to do and agree to field Woodgate and Corluka in central defence every single game. Woody now stays fit (I know its difficult to believe) and if you ask and Man City fan Corluka is quality. We need a defensive partnership that plays week in, week out. Look at Chelsea, Man U, and Arsenal, these teams are not successful through luck!

We don't have a strong midfield player who will tackle, run and niggle the opposition when we haven't got the ball, the closest thing we have is Jamie O'Hara, so play him, every single game, the guy runs everywhere when on the pitch so make his job to hunt the ball down every time we lose it. And if he plays at the expense of Modric or Jenas then so be it.

Do not let David Bentley or Gareth Bale off the training ground until they have cleared the first defender from every corner and landed the ball on the penalty spot, and, cleared the wall from every set piece 100 times in a row. Keeping with David Bentley, 15m plus extras, we know he can cross a ball and will eventually deliver quality so play him from the start, don't make him an expensive sub.

Finally, I believe Bent and Pavlyuchenko can play together, Bent to latch on to through balls, and Pavlyuchenko for the crosses.

At the end of the day sacking Ramos, won't help our situation, we just need to hope that soon he realises we need to play one team, one formation regularly to succeed, we have the personnel to change formation on the bench should we need to.

I just hope we start winning games soon because currently the odds are not stacked in our favour.
