Across Wales each Local Authority has to administer hundreds upon hundreds of short term grants. In education alone there are over 100 different grants LA's have to apply for. This is repeated across all departments within Local Government. Also there are over 40 different organisations receiving funding to chase people called NEETS (not in education and employment)

Is spending millions on this mountain of administrators the best way of using tax payers money in such poor economic times or would it be better to give the money directly to LA's to disseminate, where priority can be given to local needs. Remember we are paying £400 million a year on Administrators alone in WAG.

Finally, it is not surprising to see that the separatists speak fondly of Rhodri after all he has led the Labour Party in Wales to their most unpopular standing in over 100 years. A legacy to be proud of for a closet NAT.

What sickens me is that NATS like Ianaoharri can have a say in the Labour's Leader. Sure as there is day and night without any surprise these people support the ex Plaidi and nationalist socialist Carwyn.

Finally Stoney I would like to remind you that Huw Lewis was sacked for not wanting anything to do with the NATS. A man who sacrificed his high salaried job rather than sacrifice his beliefs what a rarity down at the bay of plenty.

No better still spend the money on frontline services and companies in desperate need of help.
Drip drip drip 3:11pm on 14 Sep 2009 Plaid held a Q+A session with Ministers in Llandudno, where Ieuan Wyn Jones was asked about 'the referendum' or for those of you who drop in only now and then, the referendum to boost the Assembly's law-making powers ...
Ieuan Wyn Jones was entirely clear in his answers to the questions put to him. There was no need to strain to make out his message.

"It's very important" he said, "that everybody out there knows what the
constitutional goal of this party is. I think it's very important that we don't hide that and the public knows it. What we have to be is be open - say to people where we stand on the
constitution.''

In other words the long-term goal of Plaid Cymru remains an independent Wales.

It looks like TRUE WALES are spot on with their message .... SLIPPERY SLOPE TO INDEPENDENCE

The proof is there to see more powers and independence are intrinsically linked.

When the Government put taxes up to 50% for high earners the initiative had the opposite effect for what was intended. Instead of bringing more into the coffers people decided to move out of the country. Just look at the premiership football the best players are now going to countries like spain where there are better tax incentives. The same will happen if you wage cap the people who make this country tick they will find pastures new where such restraints don't apply. The question then will be how do we survive as a nation...........

Plaid Cymru's answer is don't worry we will wait for the parachute payments to come in from Europe.

Rations, what rations? 6:32pm on 08 Sep 2009 What Cameron also said was he would do away with regional assemblies and reduce the number of MPs by 10%

Currently, the MPs in Wales represent on average 75000 people each where as the Assembly Members ratio is 50000 / 1 yet they still are asking to lower it to a 35000 / 1 ratio. Despite this the Assembly is seen as the leading light when it comes to putting their house in order which is laughable. What the people who have been asked to tighten their belts want to see from the politicians is longer hours for ministers, less holidays for ministers and less AMs.
