Battle hymn 9:14pm on 13 Oct 2008 Foxtrot and Gary, 100% agree. I have to admit to a sort of naiveté in that I didn't think such racism existed in the US still - the ugliness is revealed by the campaign, and it only makes it clear that the last of this kind of ignorance and hate needs to be eradicated forever. We as a nation are held back from progress by pea-brains who think they could utter such nonsense and get away with it. Freedom of speech is great, but if you are a person who believes that skin color actually means a darn thing, then you are an idiot and need to shut up.

The US is changing, and we need to confront the wrongs of our past and present NOW, before it's too late to make amends.
Fast food nation 6:03pm on 13 Oct 2008 I love hamburgers, with cheddar and grilled onions...mmm. Oh and throw some bacon on that bad boy, even better!

I also love the venison I had last night, and the freshly caught salmon I will have this evening with a lovely honey and huckleberry glaze...Pacific Northwest food.

The fact that teenagers are getting together and thinking about our country and the world...well, very cool.

I admire France, it's healthcare system, it's philosophers, and it's history. Thank you for the Statue of Liberty. To say that people in the US hate France, well that’s just not true. You gave us a start and ideals to work from. Thank you GB for being the powerhouse you are in every way. Such a small island, and yet look at how you had the whole world in your hands, simply amazing. Germany, Spain, Italy, etc, I admire all your countries for many different reasons.

To the poster who mentioned Thomas Paine, thank you.

I understand Europeans feel Americans are stupid because we haven't learned the hard lessons of war over centuries on our own land. Perhaps people from Europe were raised with different ideals based on their history, but this is true for the US as well. We are still growing and learning, and yet to dismiss us for ignorant, etc., truly is a shame. It's been an interesting experiment. We have been lost for some years now, but hopefully we can find the way, and I think we will.

We must always separate the people from the government. We need to listen to our founding fathers’ advice and avoid foreign entanglements. The world is changing and I believe the US will slowly withdraw off this stage militarily, Thank God. I dream of an isolationist US, if that’s even possible anymore.

Bill of health 8:20pm on 07 Oct 2008 Regarding #3 comment: Have you tried to access Medicaid for your children? At your income level with three children, they should at least be able to qualify for free or low cost medical insurance.

No one in this country should feel put off about applying for any sort of aid, especially a widow with three children.

Ice queens 6:12pm on 03 Oct 2008 Hold on! I'm a hockey mom (for the last 8 years). I am also a progressive. I will be voting for Obama/Biden.

Frankly, I was insulted and annoyed last night by her constant winking, her arrogance in stating she would not answer the questions given, and her "folksy" manner of speech. She in no way represents me or my values. You betcha;)
