You and thousands of other just don’t get it do you.

We can not compete in manufacturing in the world market while India China and half the worlds population work for a dollar a day we are not competitive, we are out priced and while we get credit to buy all the goods we need and twice as many we don’t then it wont change.

In addition unless we help them to become well off and start being consumers them selves there is little chance for us to supply and sell anything other than very specialist niche product eventually we could restore production but in a global economy the production of commodities will always follow the cheapest labour.

Of course we can close our borders but that will put an end to cheap holidays abroad and is also an end to low cost products and services and I am not entirely sure we have enough land and sea fish stocks any more to sustain our appetites.

Wakeup to reality Henry VIII new the Nation state was finished you have to be a world player. That means diplomacy tolerance and harmony.

All we can do is ensure a balance.

Because of the love of the negative in the media we give to much air time and to much linage to the nasty the indecent and the pathetic who pray on others insecurity like NG.

Yes expose the fowl and dreadful aspects of this mob but don’t give them endless space and time. That will make these little squirts feel important good or bad press.
BNP's 'hang generals' just 'humour' 00:09am on 21 Oct 2009 I have and still do contribute a phenomenal amount of value in what ever way I can to this country as do many millions of others is it reported no, is it noticed seldom by a few usually the family.

At the same time we have a useless and provocative damager of the reputation of this country who is courted and swooned over quoted and printed by every journalist who can work his name into a story.

Don’t you think we are sinking a long way down in the standards battle why should we even see this twerp NGs name in print we are encouraging the scoundrel then complaining at his prominence Hypocritical or what - can we call others for their standards when they are lacking in us.
'Positive action', not 'positive discrimination' 11:40pm on 20 Oct 2009 Positive or for that matter negative discrimination is an oxymoron there is just discrimination.

I am all for more women in parliament and in senior positions in public and commercial life having had grandmother and several great aunts all play prominent rolls in the Suffrage movement.

However there should be only three criteria:

1. Are they good enough for the job
2. Do they want to do the job
3. Have they or can they win the support of their peers and subordinates

We have had on all the benches in both houses over the latter half of the 20th century some very strong, very powerful women who have met all the criteria above and proved extremely good politicians in fact after Churchill the best Prime minister of the entire 20th century was a woman and a conservative as well.

So my advise to Mr Cameron is leave the woman who want to work their way through to get on with it, that gives you women like Theresa May and Ann Widdecombe and other of character.

If we look at the opposite benches which once used to boast some very talented women Jennie Lee, Bessie Braddock, Barbara Castle, Shirley Williams, Betty Boothroyd .These were all women who filled the criteria above and carried out their work with commitment and integrity. Something which seems to be sadly missing amongst the encouraged women in the government today and especially the cabinet at the present

So yes more women please, many more but no list, come on girls get in there and win it on the issues that matter. Win it on merit not a golden ticket you will feel better, do a better job and we the voters will all be better for it.

Saga and fan club and others in the. TW-TA debate

The debate seems to have settled on the merits of some sectors of the employed and not on the unemployed figures

Are they genuine figures - certainly not and if we keep having this spin reporting these figures the conclusion is that we will have slowed the rate of growth in unemployment so much that unemployment will only be slightly over five million by the end of 2010 what a great successes for statistics and journalism that will be. Never mind the unemployed who managed to hide behind such small figures.

Why this government deserve a medal for all its achievements what could we offer

I know a plaque depicting a large bird holding a bottle in its beak.

We could give it a French ring too and call it -

Rising slowly 12:11pm on 14 Oct 2009 The unemployment figures are a statistical joke I can not say it often enough every figure from this government for 9 years has been manipulated not recorded properly and or miss matched I personally know when police would not record a reported crime and social workers asked for potential danger reports to be removed to make abuse stats look better.

Anyone over 60 has to go on pension credits anyone with money or redundancy has to wait on a reserve list anyone leaving school goes into training allowance look round the offices and the works and see the empty car parks the empty buses and trains at rush hour and then tell me the unemployment figures.

Of course there are two rescue packages at work the scrapage scheme fuelling more household debt and the dropping pound keeping some manufacturing buoyant in fact the sinking pound is the natural result of the market force self balancing but then what do I know about economics. I as an elector allowed some buffoon into office who said they could do the job or did I….mmm. Another slight of hand - time for the truth me thinks.

Don’t know about the war chest funding issue the records were trampled under foot, however he did forget to take enough supplies for them so half were unfit for battle or dead when they arrived at the other side

Now is not that something to be truly concerned about.

However I am also troubled that its significance will strike accord with all.
