What's in a nickname? 4:14pm on 11 Dec 2008 I heard a discussion on the radio recently about new teachers being unable to find jobs. Apparently, there are plenty of jobs but they may not be on their door step. As one gent pointed out, if you can't get a job in a location that you want then you just have to re-locate to where there are vacancies. Many have had to do this. My son would have loved to stay in Scotland but for the type of job he wanted he had to go south. That's life, unfortunately.

Is it embarrassing to be posh? 7:26pm on 24 Nov 2008 Sounding posh does not mean being snooty. It's a real treat to hear Gyles Brandreth's cut glass accent. I'm sick of dropped t's and aitches and sloppy speech. Many broadcasters and performers seem to revel in sounding as course and ignorant as they can. Don't change, Gyles. You're a breath of fresh air.

I only wish they would investigate with the same relentless vigour the matter of the Glasgow East former M.P's expenses of £500,000. Thank goodness it wasn't a member of the SNP. Can you imagine the furore?
Not 'if', but 'when' 7:18pm on 21 Nov 2008 As the Vale of Leven hospital is in Jackie Baillie's constituency, why wasn't the c.diff matter raised with equal vigour over the past eight years? After all, the problem hasn't just arisen in the past 18 months. I have to agree whole-heartedly with the comment No. 97.

What did you think of the show? (20/10/2008) 7:15pm on 20 Oct 2008 Is there no end to the promotion of Christine and her appearance on Strictly? Every programme reference to her dancing performance. It's relentless and extremely tedious as is she and her ghastly co-presenter.
