Irresponsible or prudent? 6:27pm on 17 Nov 2008 Surely George Osborne as the shadow Chancellor has a view on what the governement is doing and we should know what that view is.

As he is not the one in power and making the decisions (yet) it is ridiculous to say that his comments have such a significant effect on the world markets that they determine if the currency rates go up and down.

The fact that they have gone up a bit today is probably more to do with the change in the crude oil price which has gone done again.
In the red 11:19am on 02 Oct 2008 Bankers and Banking companies must accept that this is their responsibility or we will end up in this mess again in the future. They were naive enough or stupid to believe that big paychecks, the bonus culture and short term targets were all they needed to worry about while ignoring the viability and sustainability of a long term banking industry. Unfortunately they are taking the rest of us down with them so no crocodile tears from me!!
