As a pro-EU tory I can tell you that I am delighted at Camerons abandonment of holding a referendum on Lisbon!

Divided? Sure we are, but this is a toxic issue for my party. I strongly dislike Hannan type sceptics [or europhobes more accurately] and they equally strongly dislike the Clarkites like me.

Its an unbridgable gap, Cameron should change the subject quickly.

Abolishing the current NHS system, where medicine is free at the point of need is not something I would support. Medicine, healthcare is a fundamental human right, not something to be limited by income. Sorry Thomas I cannot agree.

But can I ask what you mean by halting other social policies? That sounds interesting.

Although this could be concieved as a good political 'hit' on the first minister, it really doesn't tell us anything.

Let me put it this way: has the First Ministers absence from these meetings undermined his ability to act in this policy field? Has it undermined his grasp of the financial situation at all?

I would contend that it has not. This is not Brian an effective use of Grays' questions- it doesnt tell us anything at all.

I was mainly refering to Wilsons Inverness talk about "broken Britain" campaigns etc. Its all rather negative, whether true or not [and its slightly untrue, the UK isnt broke, or bankrupt].

The SNP strength is in the positivity of their message- something to vget passionate and excitied about if your an elector [and not a partisan politically obsessed blogger]. I just fear that having heard Wilsons proposals in Inverness the SNP could be learning a very poor lesson from Labour.

Plus most Unionists would be rather horrenous about it all too- bet the Sun front pages during such a referendum would make horrible reading.

Holding a referendum on the issue of independence is a rather better way of restoring some measure of "pride and self-confidence". What is more effective at rallying the Scots people around their nation than asking them to vote on their national future. Surely this may we can restore "pride" and "self-confidence" to anyone lacking?

Mind you...a clean and fair referendum would demand no mud slinging or scaremongering...that is a big ask from both sides.

Didn't Roy not run his campaign on local government issues rather than even devolved Holyrood stuff?

Either way I fail to see the relevance, because either way the Labour party hasn't got a leg to stand on. Holyrood- what they going to say to gain votes? Westminster? Nah. So it really doesnt matter.

All that matters is an SNP postive campaign. AVOID "BROKEN BRITAIN" stuff it will backfire.

Couldnt have been 3:30, my email wasnt sent till quarter past 4.

My first post on here today was at 4:57pm, long after I sent the email to Tom.

I have not recieved an email from the Uni today so far.

My hosptial visit was entirely unexpected so no need for 'this time' remarks.

StirlingSpiel I have been in hosptial overnight which is why I cancelled the meeting for today. Nothing about lack of engagement, I have sent Tom an email asking him to pass on his apologies to anyone affected. I assumed he would have passed on my apologies to you.

As for anything I have said about SUSNA on these blogs we can iron that out when I am not undergoing hospial visits perhaps?
