Whilst it is wrong to engage in banker bashing there is a percentage of people employed in that industry who have acted rashly and recklessly and have been paid very well for doing just that.
As for Preston bashing...I do think that some of the language used in the reporting of this crisis have been imflammatory to say the least...and if we start to think that the German president is going to be the guiding light out of this mess, heaven help us.
42-days is dead 8:13pm on 06 Oct 2008 Well here goes I hope someone gets 2 read this before someone complains and removes it... There will come a day when when the 42 day bill will look like a piece of legislation that should have been passed..we have buried deep inside this countries society people/groups who wish to undermine our way of life by any means available to them. The atrocities which have occured here in recent years,I think are the tip of the iceberg. Before you ask I am not a member of the BNP, a Nazi, or a member of any other Arian based lunatic sect but, the freedoms which we enjoy here and extend to all people who express a desire to settle here have been abused, this is not racism because I am not a racist, but when there are parts of this country that in reallity are no go areas for the indiginous population I find this deeply disturbing...but it seems from the other posts here that I am alone in these feelings.
Full deposit protection is nigh 6:10pm on 05 Oct 2008 Im sure the moderators or some liberal mamby pamby will block this post but here goes....I have said for years when discussing the run up to the WW2 that there could be a set of circumstances however unlikely that could lead to Germany adopting very right wing ideals again and starting the descent into them reverting to type...I will apologise to any one this has offended but watch this space.

Enthusiasm, commitment, charisma, and best of all..a loathing of all things Tory he has a socialist pedigree to be proud of which will be handy now all the greedy money grabbing Tory bankers have dropped us in the biggest financial mess this side of Zimbabwe. Welcome back Mr Mandleson I was actually beginning to think that the next election was going to be a close run thing...not now New Labour will be returned without doubt.

Insane markets and HBOS 10:35pm on 01 Oct 2008 Can I share my partners and mine experience today? We decided to split up our savings all of which are in HBOS..we visited first HSBC in Crewe the lady we saw miscalculated the monthly income from the proposed deposit by 47%...next on to Nat West...the lady we saw had to go and get help with her calculations expressing the problem as not being able to do the maths herself.....then on to Barclays....waited 15mins....while the lady we saw there to get a senior member of staff.....she never came back...is this just in Crewe or are banking staff nationally bereft of the ability to give advice???
