I must concur with the previous posters.

Please let go of the concept of ``immersive end-user experience'' and just provide URLs to Vorbis and Theora encodings of the unrestricted material. A simple HTML index will suffice; no need for media player plug-ins.

Alternatively, take the budget for this apparent make-work scheme and use it to help the Gnash developers work towards supporting iPlayer.

Seems a shame that the BBC will not use some of that additional revenue to supplement FCO funding for the World Service, which provides a true benefit to societies around the World but is being crippled by cut-backs to schedules and withdrawal from shortwave broadcasts.

The USA has a plethora of news sources, some of them decent. Why not educate the nations instead of competing against Fox and CNN? Are egos at play here?

Why was a cipher operator staying at the civvie Marriott? This becomes even
more interesting when one realises that the NIOC has close links to
the NSA and many service personnel have been commemorated on the
Memorial Wall:

Given the BBC's coverage one would never know that there are more than two

Well we've been waiting ten months so far for some form of iPlayer that actually works within open standards, so I suppose a few more weeks is endurable...
A change in the Weather 6:12pm on 01 Oct 2008 So the BBC website has a Weather subsite. I was unaware of this and now that I know, can I ask - why?

The Met Office has an excellent site that provides the same forecasting directly from the source and which does so without using Flash. So why the duplication in provision?

Weather on BBC radio I can understand, but could the resources used for this subsite not be used to create original content?

Baffled.

No, NASA is *not* the ``American space agency''. It is the National _Aeronautics_ and Space Administration.

Some of its work involves spaceflight. Much of its work does not...
