• Listening to Norman's last episode 12:36pm on 23 Nov 2009 "A quick look at the message board on the Archers website tells me that many of you were there and listening to Norman Painting's last appearance as Phil last night."
  
  Whilst some of us will not be able to hear it until next Sunday, I can see that - even with Steve's assurances - many will have to give this Radio Four blog a wide berth until 11:30hrs next Sunday... :-(
• Next week is Archers Week 10:58am on 21 Nov 2009 "There will be blog posts, photographs, audio..//.."
  
  Do us a favour, especially if the photos are related to the cast, can you make these optional (launch them in a URL linked pop-up or something please), many Archers fans have their own mental image of the charter and seeing a mug-shot or what of the actor ever can actually affect the listeners enjoyment! Also, please advise if any of the audio, or indeed blogs, will be plot spoilers, even if the blog is about the currently broadcast episode(s), remember that many listen to the omnibus edition rather than the daily episodes.
• Website problems 3:03pm on 20 Nov 2009 #57, your problem is most likely something to do with your operating system, your browser settings, one or more browser plug-in, it could even be an issue with your own ISP/network, it's certainly nothing to do with the BBC's network fault that was the subject of this blog...

  They used to say that about Churchill in the mid 1930s, not that I'm comparing these two appointees with the great man (most defiantly not): my point is, saying what you have, even before they have had time to sit behind their desks never mind actually show what they might or might not be able to do/achieve, relegates your comments firmly into the "Lets say anything that bashes the EU" league of anti EU rants - no surprise there then...

  As long as the 'longer headline' doesn't actually end up being less accurate due to being needlessly padded out, take the example used in the mast head image, the short title to the H1N1 article is actually the more accurate, the longer headline is totally meaningless as the phrase "young children" means different things to different folks - to some a 'young child' is a pre-schooler (in the UK that means a child below the age of four and half), to others a child of 10 years is still a 'young child', the phrase "Under-fives" gives a far more accurate account of the government announcement, the only problem I see with the headline is that it's so accurate one hardly has to read the actual text of the article!...
• Blair camp not hopeful 9:53pm on 19 Nov 2009 Well that, especially the appointment of Baroness Ashton, should see the membership of UKIP increase, she was a controversial appointment when she took over from Mandelson. As "WebAlice" says @ #56, she has no international political experience what so ever (as far as I can tell), the closest she got to such a position was working for C.N.D...
  
  To put this in a sporting context, the EU has managed to score an own goal from the centre spot upon starting a game of football with the back-pass!
