Spending challenge looms 10:11am on 06 Nov 2009 Brian, you grudgingly admit that Iain Gray was "reasonably effective" yesterday (when most of the papers agree that he absolutely skewered Salmond) but then you go on invent an answer that Salmond never gave to a question that Gray might have asked but didn't.

Am I the only one who thinks that is bizarre?
'OK pal, outside, now' 1:24pm on 08 Oct 2009 Brian, I don't understand your slavish adulation of the First Minister. Far from him being "unflustered" Salmond was on the ropes today and noticeably uncomfortable because of his utter hypocrisy on council tax avoidance.

It was no surprise to hear Nationalist journalist Campbell Gunn singing Salmond's praises afterwards, but I'm surprised at you.
Paper trail 11:30am on 30 Sep 2009 Today's Scottish Sun is all over the place. It bashes Brown and Labour, but doesn't back the Tories or the SNP. They have tied themselves in knots and it is because they know that Scottish readers would not tolerate the Sun backing the Tories.

"We will maintain teacher numbers in the face of falling school rolls to cut class sizes."

That promise has been broken, and no red herrings from Fiona Hyslop will change that fact.

Further VAT rise was considered 09:09am on 27 Nov 2008 Why is Nick Robinson so enthusiastically trumpeting the Tory smokescreen on a rise in VAT, which is a blatant ploy to deflect from Labour's CUT in VAT?

Is it anything to do with his past as Chairman of the Young Conservatives?

You confuse the position of the previous Labour-Lib Dem coalition Scottish Executive with the consistent Labour Party position in favour of new nuclear build.

All that has changed is that the Labour policy is now freed from the shackles of Lib Dem dogma and is rightly starting to plan for a secure, reliable source of carbon-free electricity.

If only the SNP had the sense to do the same.
