Blatter blunders while Wada walks the beat 3:00pm on 13 May 2009 The reason FIFA and the american sports don't want to do the WADA 365/24/7 policy is that unofficially they think that major recreational drug abuse is going on which is easiest enough to get anyway with if you do it in-between games, which will massively taint the image of footballers did no -one ask how Matt Stevens got away with taking Cocaine for so long? if they introduce mid week testing scores of footballers will get caught. Even former professionals have come out and said they got away with they whole careers Tony Adams and Paul Merson being the most high profile. Its got nothing to do with 'modern slavery' and why do footballers think they are above what athletes go through!

No point crying 12:32pm on 08 May 2009 mate good luck in the future hope u keep the blog fantastic read, I myself finish my business degree in 2 weeks and will be jobless so feel your pain! on the conference there is a good couple of part time Histon and Crawley ( I think!) who would although area wise mite not be ideal part time work with coaching, and jouno course mite be a good mix? lol maybe I'll become a recruitment consultant! Encouraging signs for England 8:11pm on 22 Mar 2009 by the way scottish rugby is in trouble! could be no scottish contenders i reckon Ian G mite chuck in Ben Blair or maybe the odd forward but it is big trouble, think needs to have a big look at itself!
Encouraging signs for England 7:38pm on 22 Mar 2009 on the championship England were never as bad is people said (minus the discpline) and Wales were never as good as people thought, I wish I had gone on record but before the tournament I said Ireland were going to win, England for 2nd and I wasn't sure about the rest, Wales are overated, yes they have had a few good years, but Gatland and Edwards are the magicians that turned an average Wales team into a tight, yet counter attacking unit, however as their fragile defense showed this championship they will always concede tries so many overated and off form good players in that team.

On the lions of players that have impressed me, monye's pure gas is a threat to anyone, seeing what Bowe did to Shane Williams for his try showed his finishing ability, I thought Ian Gough was outstanding for Wales, one of the best second rows in the world, Peel and Philips must be shoeing for scrum half maybe a cheeky shout for Ellis or Care, but a couple postions worry me 10 and 12 mainly as i think the big SAFFA unit will just smash thorugh however they put there. I would probably go Flood, Henson as that is fairly tight although maybe Flood Roberts with BOD at outside offers a bit of variety. also i think agreeing with a few posts above trying to go for some continuty of players in national postional areas is a big shout so therefore here is my team.

not bad team good up front although if the 10/12/13 combination isn't right the lions won't click i think as well a big consideration is having paterson on the wing as his pure kicking ability might put a dirty saffa unit on the back foot a bit more, as well if wilko is fit might by a shout for 10...
Warming the bench is a pain in the backside! 3:55pm on 05 Mar 2009 story mate told me was out in manchester on news years eve and a well known premiership defender who obviously was told he wasn't going to start the next day was out having a 'few drinks' needless to say but he ended up playing 90 awful minutes the next day probably not the best prep...
Improving football for kids 12:11pm on 26 Feb 2009 very good blog once again I myself have done a bit of coaching, now looking for full time work I think the development of players is a funny one I think lads being lads will develop, I remember when i was a younger i played footy everyday in the house, in the street, with your mates, on sundays, for school, etc etc. so i think that with that in mind i think the real development has to be from under age football to mens football, i think that around the 11-14's age is a good age to make the step up, but when to make the step up to mens? i started playing regular mens football at the age of 16 although and as a goalkeeper this toughened me up big style, however to start moving up the leagues is difficult at that age but when of the turning points for me was playing in a u21's league which bridged the mens/ boys gap very well, most the teams in the league were non-league reserve teams or youth teams so was a great experience to play against some very good players, on good pitches and was very enjoyable mainly because we cleaned up winning the county cup, the league and the runners up in the other cup, many of the players from that league now play non-league football from no academy background. u21's leagues should become more wide spread that i am aware there aren't many leagues.
