The tweet that slipped through the net 09:49am on 31 Jul 2009 It was bound to happen! Twitter is basically a tool to allow the self obsessed to indulge in their favourite subject. The 'spontaneity', i.e. communicating without thinking, means that there had to be a slip up eventually. The real story comes from the timing of the statement rather than the actual content, which in itself speaks volumes.

Why SPOTY is moving to Sheffield 11:08am on 30 Apr 2009 There are many programmes already on TV that provide in depth coverage of football. Even Formula One which is now broadcast by the BBC is in danger of overkill on our screens, live qualifying, race repeats, etc. SPOTY is so called because it covers all sports, not just the big ones. The Olympics only come round every 4 years and Team GB did particularly well last year which in my opinion justifies the extensive coverage of Olympic and Paralympic sports on SPOTY, a decision vindicated by the fact that Chris Hoy won. 4 years of dedicated training in order to achieve what Team GB did is in my eyes more worthwhile than a rich team that can buy a lot of £30m players winning the European Cup. We hear about this all the time anyway. How about the sports that really aren't covered by SPOTY, Phil Taylor's huge achievements in darts, the snooker, badminton, etc, surely there has to be one occasion per year where sports fans can get equal coverage of their sports without having to take a back seat to the big guns like they usually have to put up with.
Customer service - have your say 2:49pm on 28 Apr 2009 I think tarring all aspects of customer service with the same brush is far too general; when I worked in retail the recruitment methods and training I invested in my staff were with the sole intent of providing good service so this shouldn't be diluted by peoples opinions of someone in a call centre.

My response towards those who deliver poor service is to not go back to that particular establishment, although this is not listed as an option on the questionnaire. I neither complain or put up with it, so I feel those like me who vote with their feet are being ignored and therefore those from the service sector who will undoubtedly watch the programme to find out how to improve will miss this vital point.

Another great blog. We were discussing the other day about Exeter's rise up the leagues hoping they may not suddenly peak and find themselves entrenched in the relegation zone of League One next season. Hopefully they'll establish themselves as a mid table side before looking at the next step in their improvement. To go from being a non league side scrapping for a play off place to playing home games against the likes of Southampton, Charlton and maybe even Leeds and Norwich is a dream for the Grecians! long may it continue!
