Apologies for being off-topic - however yesterday's display at "Prime Ministers Questions" made me mad.

At a time when our country and citizens are facing great and well known challenges is it right that our
supposed leaders spend time trying to score points off each other in a manner better suited to a pub brawl.

Is it little wonder that our young adults are cynical and disillusioned with politics.

The televised behaviour at PMQ's is a poor example to the rest of the world.

SHOULD PRIME MINISTERS QUESTIONS BE SUSPENDED UNTIL DAVID CAMERON AND GORDON BROWN LEAVE OFFICE?

Are the required standards of ethics, integrity and behaviour for Peers not covered in the Oath taken at the time of their inauguration?

If not, then such requirements and standards should be included in detail sufficient to permit cancellation of the Peerage in the event that such standards are compromised or not met
The rising taxpayer burden 10:56am on 12 Nov 2008 Are we witnessing the Systematic Destruction and Appropriation of Corporate UK by the Unholy Trinity comprising the Banks, Hedge Funds and Private Equity?

Basically the process appears to be as follows:

a. BANKS reduce or withdraw funding to Corporate UK

b. HEDGE FUNDS attack and decimate share prices using their short selling strategies

c. PRIVATE EQUITY buys Corporate UK at knock-down prices

d. BANKS finance and support HEDGE FUNDS and PRIVATE EQUITY

e. LOSERS - UK Limited, Employees, Homemakers, Savers, Pension Funds, and Taxpayers.

f. LOSERS - The reputation of Government, FSA and the Bank of England at their apparent refusal to accept that any such Systemic Threat is directed at our economy.

It would be interesting to identify the volume of lending between BANKS and HEDGE FUNDS & PRIVATE EQUITY versus lending to Corporate UK.

Are my concerns reasonable?

Forcing the banks 10:24pm on 06 Nov 2008 Perhaps the Chancellor can introduce an Immoral Earnings Tax - being a tax on the immoral income taken, (not earned), by the Banks in not on-passing the full reduction in Interest Rates to their customers.
Forcing the banks 7:50pm on 06 Nov 2008 It appears that certain Banks have little interest in their Customer base, nor positive recognition to the Taxpayer (where applicable), for the enormous financial support provided recently.

Apparently some Banks that fail to on-pass the full benefit of recent Interest Rate reductions to their Customers consider that such behaviour is acceptable during this period of financial turmoil, caused primarily by the greed and incompetency of their industry.

Unfortunately the FSA and Politicians, including the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, cannot convince all the Banks of their responsibilities in this current crisis.

It appears that the Banks believe they are negotiating from a position of strength and any loyalty to their benefactors or customers is of little consequence.

(This may be a miscalculation as they rely heavily on their customer base as a source of retail funds.)

I have concerns that the Public, (and Corporate Employers), may demonstrate their disillusionment by withdrawing their funds from those tight-fisted banks who decide to increase their lending margins at this time.

Should this occur then the Government could assist by encouraging Northern Rock to accept any transfer funds and enhancing the role of that institution to provide full banking services.
All change at RBS 8:28pm on 12 Oct 2008 Great to see the concerted actions being taken in Europe tonight, and probably being replicated around the world.

Hopefully Reporters and Commentators will not devalue the proposed solution by reference to the fact that it has not been delivered earlier.

I suspect that we, (everyone except Reporters and Commentators), acknowledge that the Politicians could not have proposed and achieved any such Agreement until the Banks, Taxpayers and Investors realised that there was no alternative.

How will the performance of the Joint Party "Financial Stability and Transparency Treasury Committee" be reviewed?

This Parliamentary Committee has been convened for over a year with specific responsibility for delivering "Financial Stability and Transparency" within the Financial Sector.

The "Joint Party" Committee were rightly critical of Bank of England and Financial Services Authority systems, accountability and performance.

However the Committee was charged with identifying and implementing a solution.

How will their performance be assessed and by whom.

Can any of the major political parties criticise the performance of Gordon Brown when their tasked representatives appeared to have failed so miserably?

In general Reporters and Commentators within the Media have the benefit of hindsight and are accountable for delivering nothing in terms of a solution.

However they often use their position to aggressively attack Politicians who are working diligently to solve the problem.

Is this fair and reasonable - have they redefined the role of "Reporter" and "Commentator"?

Are they abusing their power?

By the way - great interview by Boris Johnson on Friday's "Today" with John Humphries.

All change at RBS 5:40pm on 12 Oct 2008 I suspect that the threat to the UK Economy and the British way of life is as serious now, as was faced by the country during the Second World War.

Is it not time that we concentrated on the solution and not the cause.
(The cause to be addressed later).

Should the BBC, CNBC and Bloomberg be suspended until such time that reporting and commentary is made more balanced and complete, and that equal prominence is given to the solution and its delivery rather than dwelling on the past?
