Public servants on $20m a year 11:37am on 03 Dec 2009 if all bankers move to the US due to bonus limits here and europe then obviously there will be surplus bankers (as if there weren't already) in the US and the jobs market there would naturally lower the bonus paid there.
win - win

would be interesting experiment to see if we actually need bankers to run banks anyway.

Five-year taxpayer help for banks 09:16am on 17 Dec 2008 can someone answer a couple of questions for me?
1/ why can't the UK/US just cancel all it's debt obligations to everyone and start from fresh?
2/ the reported 50 billion that has been lost by madoff - has it really been lost or has the 50 billion been given to past investors of his funds as supposed 'growth'? if so can't the regulatory bodies just look back to his clients and get this money back?

it's a shame that in a democracy the tax payers don't have a say at all concerning these matters. maybe we can get our voices heard by delaying our payment of our council tax for a month or two.
Central banks to the rescue 10:55am on 26 Sep 2008 can we just be done with this mess and move on. it's dragged on for a year now with probably many more to go. we need some form of collapse in the system before a new order can rise up to replace this current system.

why don't we all help things along by withdrawing all our money out of the banks in the next week. also, we all delay our next month mortgage payments by 1 month.

that should give a nice signal to the banks that we contol them and not vice versa.
Bank of England must lend 08:55am on 25 Sep 2008 if what RP says is correct and that the banks themselves have lots of money but refusing to lend to each other -
why doesn't the BoE just refuse to take money from the banks for overnight deposits. that would force the banks to invest their money elsewhere otherwise they'd be making a lost sitting on their cash hoards.
