Arts and the economy - uncomfortable bedfellows? 10:19am on 13 Feb 2009 It's all fine looking at past incentives and ideas, but this is a far different age we live in. With the domincance of TV, DVD, Cinema, Computers I don't think you would get the same numbers through to the same activities as before.

I'm not saying arts SHOULDN'T be funded...just the thinking of HOW they should be funded should be taken under careful consideration (as the entire funding of the economy should be!:D)

1. Chance. Simple as that.

'I've never joined Facebook because...' 12:08pm on 04 Feb 2009 I have friend all over the country, other friends working abroad and Facebook is such an easy way to keep updated as to how things are going with them and not have to worry about large phone/text bills! Not only that I can see pictures of what they have been upto, and nights outs and parties that I missed!

Oh, and my page can only be viewed by those I approve as real people I know. If you don't want to have someone who didn't like in school add you hit the "decline" button. Simple as deleting a phone number!

I do concur that you can't hold someone accountable for something that their ancestors did long ago. Different times, Different outlooks.

People make their own choices. It's time they started accepting the consequences.

Oh, and artisticHamilton , there is also the social drinkers who know how to control themselves and not fall into any of your narrow three categories!

Not one person I know of says anything of the sort. Complete waste of money ESPECIALLY at this time! Use it to do..well..anything that will actually beneift people who have more to worry about than a couple of pieces of art.

Not to be picky but I think you'll find it's "we the BRITISH people..."
First beam 1:00pm on 10 Sep 2008 I thought they were sending the Protons along one section at a time so if there were any blockages then they would be able to locate them quickly and accuratly. I'll presume that's how they know which house it would be under.
