No. Small Jewish minority groups living amidst Arabs do not equal the World Jewry.

Not preserved. Reinvented. Hebrew was a dead, or ceremonial at best, language until the creation of Israel. Not to mention the rabid campaign against Yiddish in Israel, which was an actually, real, living part of many Jewish people's identity unlike the Hebrew language.

And anything that *WAS* yours a thousands of years ago, and has been other people's for thousands of years since is *NOT* yours anymore. Any suggestion to the contrary is nothing short of insane.

And then shortly after WWII they and started migrating there en masse from Europe, violently terrorizing the existing state (even when it was still in British hands) and shortly after getting their independence started oppressing the Palestinians. That is the problem--not the innocent arrival of law-abiding Jewish immigrants.

The rest of your rant has less and less to do with anything.

Israel *IS* European colonialism in the Middle East. Look at the amount of American financial and military support they receive. Look at the fact that it took about 30 years after the creation of Israel before the highest political offices were allowed to be held by people born in Israel as opposed to Europe. Look at their myriad pretenses of Europeanism (Eurovision, Soccer, et al).

Rambling on for paragraph after paragraph about historical minutiae cannot change these simple facts.

6 of Israel's 9 Presidents to date have been Europeans, 1 was Iranian, 2 were born in Palestine. Of the Europeans, 4 were Russians, 1 was Irish, and 1 was Polish.

The first Israeli President to have been born in Palestine (i.e.: present-day Israel) came to power in 1978, a full 30 years after Israel's creation.

8 of Israel's 14 Prime Ministers (counting people, not terms) have been Europeans, 6 were born in Palestine/Israel--although the first Palestinian/Israeli-born Prime Minister was an interim one in 1967 and the first *elected* non-European Prime Minister was in 1974 (26 years after Israel's creation). Of the Europeans, 4 were Russians, 3 Polish, and 1 Ukranian.

Israel is European colonialism in the Middle East, no matter how varied its pawns, victims, and foot-soldiers may be.

Not a single Middle Eastern person among them. All are indistinguishable from your average European or American politician. (A fact that Israel uses to maximum effect in its international propaganda campaigns.)

The small Jewish minority continuing to live (in what thousands of years ago was Israel) amidst Arabs had no sensible implication or impact on the creation of modern Israel.

As for all the rest... people who don't belong in that country in the first place have no business telling those whose ancestors have *actually* lived there for centuries how to live.

If Palestinians make their country into a hell-hole, that will be their fault. So long as European and American elites in Israel do it for them, it is Israel's fault.

What part of that observation is precisely wrong though? And how does it not follow, if said observation is indeed as accurate as it appears, that Israel is a racist and apartheid state?

Until there a Bulgarian has as much chance to get the Presidency and be respected the way a French or a German president would be, I've no interest in being represented by an unremarkable and unceasing succession of dimwitted Western European politicians.

He is--with an obviousness so blatant it cannot be missed--a deranged hate-filled sociopath.

He is patriotic like a cult-member and seems to regularly show a sort of detached delight at the thought of Europeans being slaughtered.

The really disturbing thing though, of course, is that he is not altogether unrepresentative of American national character.

My heartfelt thanks though to all the debaters trying to futilely enlighten him. Fascinating as always!

Public politeness is a general human trait that the vast majority of people from any ethnocultural background can maintain effortlessly.

Check some earlier blog entries' comment lists to see numerous (based on this page) seemingly enlightened commenters demonstrate remarkable ignorance and prejudice on subjects that challenge their preconceptions.

If you read back even just a week... it rather seems that in this thread WebAliceinwonderland has had a remarkably engaging and positive impact on people who not that long ago were rudely and arrogantly dismissing and deriding her with various narrow-minded arguments.

Having followed Mendemus' posts myself for some time, it rather seems to me a typical Englishman is generally more polite and slightly less ignorant, but almost as arrogant, as a typical American. The reason it may seem otherwise a lot of the time is because the first part (politeness) tends to mask the second and third part (ignorance and arrogance).

Clearly average Americans are ideologically closer to Islamic terrorists than they are prepared to admit.

So why not just pull back? Let the savage Islamic hordes invade Europe! If it gets too bad, you can always just nuke our whole continent... truly, you cannot lose!
