In any event, what was so good about Vince Cable. He did all right comparing Brown to Mr Bean. He could have gone further and compaired Alistair Darling to Captain Darling in 'Blackadder Goes Forth'.

A gloomy forecast 02:11am on 09 Oct 2008 I watched the debate but was hard pushed not to fall asleep. I heard nothing new from the two candidates, one looks tired and old, the other is young and black. Is America ready.......I am personally glad that in a month this will be all over, what on earth will the BBC do.......however Jon your reporting is interesting and I enjoy reading it. Well done.

McCain looks old and Obama looks young and enthusiastic.....not long to go before the result, either everyone is going to be happy with Obama winning or they are going to be very depressed........

"He'll be gone in three weeks" 5:43pm on 18 Sep 2008 Brown might be considered a good Chancellor but he inherited a healthy Treasury.......he is not a good Prime Minister. I am surprised there isn't a call for Blair to return to Parliament, at least he smiled and i am sure history will say he was successful. The conservatives are improving but they will have to convince voters to go out and vote........
