Jon, your blog has been great and you've won over the sensitive souls who assumed a foreigner would conclude that all Americans are dunderheads. Perhaps you've helped a few from the US to relax, ever so slightly, about the way they think the world perceives them.

Magic bus 5:23pm on 09 Sep 2008 Agree with post 17. It's really telling how it's apparently assumed by some US residents that a professional BBC journalist travelling across the entire length of the country will conclude that Americans are fat, waddly xenophobes.
