China switches to Paralympic mode 5:04pm on 06 Sep 2008 Why can't the Paralympics Games take place at the same time as the Olympics Games?
After all athletes are athletes whatever their diversity ( to me everyone in this instance has a very well able body, haven't they ?)
I can't see why all the different sports disciplines can't feature in the "able bodies "and "disabled bodies" competions at the same time and alongside one another!
The games would last one week longer , so what?
I find it difficult to accept that at a time of integration and antidiscrimination law in Europe, the London Olympics and paralympics in London will still be 2 different events.
Think about the money saved of having one opening and closing ceremony!
